    1. Still can't find the order of precedence for the MoD... It's driving me nuts!
    2. Finally a photo of the tank biathlon medals in their present format.
    3. Personally, I think it's really nice. Mind you, a bit straighter and under glass would be a nice touch.
    4. Outstanding! Awesome to see a brave NCO receiving the LoH! Outstanding! Thanks for sharing!
    5. I received an answer from DH&R at NDHQ from none other than the award designer! Although military personnel can earn it, the Polar medal is essentially a civilian decoration that will in no way replace the ALERT or RANGER clasps to the SSM.
    6. ...and the securement of Canada’s Northern sovereignty... Hmmm... Will it replace the ALERT clasp on the SSM you think?
    7. I know quite a few places to get them on line, even the older now defunct ones... If you run out of options, drop me a PM.
    8. Nice, you're really not missing much are you?! My fav is the Soviet Marines one.
    9. Fantastic photo! Most of the French soldiers have the British MM, and the French Médaille Militaire and Croix de Guerre, most with palm! Must've been some battle!
    10. 20 EURO?? That doesn't even cover the clasp on the Madagascar medal! Good for you! Lucky b......
    11. Der Hauptmeister!! Awesome to get a sign of life from you bro! OK, that was the good news... Now for these... Things. 100% crap. Sorry...
    12. Another thing I noticed in this year's parade... Smiles... Rank after rank of smiles... I can almost hear the orders...
    13. Peter, I don't think rank has anything to do with it. Timing on the other hand does... Like I said above, the new SSMs are minted vice cast like the one I received years ago while stationed in Germany. The Queen's jubilee medals (50 & 60) were also minted, they look really good, but the 1992 125th anniversary of confederation medal was cast and triple plated, it looks pretty bad! I'm happy the decision makers are once again spending a bit more for quality awards.
    14. Well... A special version of an already existing one.
    15. And here's a pic of the specially minted medal for the occasion.
    16. JP, like you, I also have the SSM... Unfortunately, mine is from the "cheap" period. Remember? Poorly casted and triple plated? Even C.D.s were looking very sad. The last SSM I court mounted for a squadron mate (late last year) was seriously nice! It was minted and looked sooooooo superior to the one I received. If some of those funds are to mint quality awards vice the cheap stuff we received for the past 10-15 years then more power to them!
    17. I found the establishment order and award criteria. Jubilee medal "100 years of international police cooperation". Established by ministerial order 150 of 14 March 2014. 18. Snow melted...  Days getting warmer...  Coming back to life!  :)
