      Absolutely gorgeous!!
    2. These 6 however are legit. (Phew! ) (LIGHT BLUE) Medal "For Merit in Intelligence", (DARK BLUE) Medal "For Merit in Counter-Intelligence", (RED) Medal "For Merit in Safeguarding Economic Security", (ORANGE) Medal "For Merit in Combating Terrorism", (GREEN) Medal "For Merit in Border Activities", (BLACK) Medal "For Merit in Ensuring Information Security"
    3. 2 of 8 FSB medals recently purchased (Medal for Merit in Management Activities). I posted this image in a Russian forum asking why 2 different coloured medals had the same designation... The answer was quick in coming, unfortunately. Neither is real, they were unadopted by the FSB, that's why the ribbon colours don't match with the medals' enamels either. CRAP!

    5. It's still snowing here...  :(

    6. We'Ve had our first day above zero in months!! :D

    7. Neg, the Border Guards, even the naval ones were all reabsorbed into the FSB.
    8. A new Defense Ministry award created by order 722 of 2014. Medal "For Merit in Maintaining Law and Order" I'm still looking for the entire order. I must admit at being a bit weary about a "military" medal having to do with law enforcement... CLICK ON PIC FOR FULL SIZE
    9. By order of the minister of defense of the Russian Federation number 955 of 2014, a special variant is authorized for the 70th anniversary parade. The obverse has an image of the Order of the Patriotic War at top center and the reverse inscription "For participation in the military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" (Медаль «За учаÑтие в военном параде в ознаменование 70-Ð»ÐµÑ‚Ð¸Ñ ÐŸÐ¾Ð±ÐµÐ´Ñ‹ в Великой ОтечеÑтвенной войне 1941-1945 гг) below a much reduced in size ministerial bicephalic eagle. 10. "Possibly", (and a bit late) in relation to his 1988 official reinstatement to the rank of Fleet Admiral of the Soviet Union, the minister of defense of the Russian Federation, by order 34 of 2013, renamed the medal to: Medal "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N.G. Kuznetsov".
    11. Interesting recent development, by order of the minister of defense of the Russian Federation number 35 of 2013, the medal was renamed to: Medal "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union S.G. Gorshkov".
    12. Bison, if I understand you correctly... This is a Médaille d'honneur de l'Aéronautique niveau or from the Transport Ministry then? Wow, this is the first one I've ever seen!
    13. Wait a minute... I just noticed the reverse doesn't say Ministère de la Défense... Hmmm... An unrealized prototype of a new model Médaille de l'Aéronautique?
    14. You're in the right spot. Welcome to GMIC! That's an odd variant I've never seen before. It's a Gold level honour medal for civilian personnel of the French defence ministry working for the air force (Médaille d'honneur des personnels civils du ministère de la défense niveau or pour l'aviation). Never seen one with laurels, looks really sharp.
    15. Looks like a museum! Marvelous! Thanks for sharing!
    16. So far, word is only 650,000 will be produced. The previous ones were produced in the millions... The last 5 to 10 years have seen a great proportion of WW2 vets pass away.
    17. Not yet, not even on Russian maker and/or auction sites. Maybe they're waiting for the May Day parade...?
    18. An interesting video on the award maker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLyT9b0uTfU&feature=youtu.be
    19. This will most probably be the last one of this series of WW2 commemoratives...
