    1. Pictures?? From Halloween parties?? Post em!!! PE-LEA-SE!!!
    2. Yeah... You're not actually going to have a normal life at the expense of our curiosity are you? What kind of monster are you?
    3. First of all, awesome family sets! My compliments on an AWESOME find! Secondly... About the plating (dipping, anodizing, etc)... I have dozens of Commonwealth medals that were plated, including Victorian Era ones (I can hear the cringing from here)... Many will not buy them and in the same wave of their all knowing wands will dismiss them as ruined. I don't agree... Although I prefer a medal "dans son jus", I will not stop myself from a purchase if said medal is plated and can't honestly imagine any tangible proof of devaluation save some people won't want one.
    4. I checked all 34, they're great!!! Thanks so much for sharing these treasures.
    5. Doesn't the shape of the crown scream Belgium?
    6. Leaving a "Oh Henry" (floater) in a jacuzzi is the "pinnacle of our depravity"? I think you're in for a shock at our next staff meeting...
    7. The Canucks are taking over! It's a rebellion against the mother land! To the walls!... I mean, see you at Tim's!
    8. No rash... Boonzaier originally thought it was a bidet...
    9. Peter, don't forget to ask for your key to the executive washroom... We have a jacuzzi and a wet bar in there!
    10. Beautiful, but again, new ribbons... I might have some old 1914-15 Star and WW2 Victory ribbons left if you'd like me to check. These modern machine woven ones give me the creeps when seen on such fine sets.
    11. WOW! Superb! I think it worthwhile though, IMHO, if you have a chance, to try to find older 1914-15 Star and WW2 Victory medal ribbons where the colours are blending together vice these modern machine woven ones. You can still find some if you look around. Still, awesome set!
    12. That's correct, most countries had an attaché for each service. I searched real deep for an officer named "Papillon", no joy... I did however find document ID codes to the French naval archives that contain messages from the capitaine de frégate but have no idea who to contact to have a looksee.
    13. These officers had terrible hand writing!! The 1st on the left is a "Capitaine de frégate (commander)", his name is either Augier or Augur, I searched what records I could get my hands on but couldn't find him... The other 2 drove nearly drove me mad... Go figure... I searched far and wide for the embassy staff in 1937, I found just about everybody down to the cleaning woman but nothing on these 3 gents. Sorry...
    14. No takers??
    15. Is there any way you can scan the dedications below the pics in higher resolution? All the info sought is there, it's just a bit small to read cursive signatures at this resolution.
    16. Royal Canadian Navy uniforms, including head gear, were exactly the same as the British Royal Navy during WW2. The only difference were on the cap tallies of the other ranks flat caps which said HMCS instead of HMS...
    17. That's my thought right now...
    18. Any stars around the "E"?
    19. The pin looks like the coat of arms of the Armenian SSR, it bears that flag. I am unfortunately unable to decypher the inscription. The SAR patch completely eludes me though... I went through the entire US military unit register, even the older one, checked RAF, RCAF, RAAF etc... NADA! So I went through the North American civilian air ambulance registry, nothing! Sorry...
    20. Wow... If these turn out as real, what a find! I've never before seen a document to a member of the Czechoslovak Legions.
    21. No problem, I'd much rather have the straigth thruth.
    22. I've had many conflicting opinions on my China medal due to the ball mount at the top (on another forum). I would really really appreciate opinions of our GMIC experts. Obverse & reverse Close up of the signature Mark on the reverse (crab)

        Claudius

Quick...put the game on, have a tray of glasses and bottles of booze out with a sign out that says "Help yourself, will be down in a minute" then lay back down for a half hour. It almost worked for me, but I ran out of olives -d@mn martini lovers...
