Hello, I tried to find current information on the above award, and very little is available? Two questions? Didn’t awards from States and Kingdoms cease after WWI? And if so, how is it possible that Hermann Goering was awarded the Grand Cross of the Ernestine House Order in the 1930’s? He is seen wearing the award in his Heer General’s tunic? Were there other post WWI awards made to Germans? Thank you in advance!

Hello, I have a book that lists the recipients of this award, as well as others. Can someone please tell me if the awards are identical when awarded by the Prussian Government under Kaiser Wilhelm II and also under the Princely House Order? I have recipients that list one or the other, and have read that while Kaiser took over the House of Hohenzollern, that awards were also given under the Princely House itself?

Okay I just found a copy of Willi Geile's book on Recipients of the Knight's Cross of the House Order of Hohenzollern during the First World War. It lists the recipients alphabetically by year of their award 1915-1918. It also gives the date and rank at time of award. What it doesn't list is their first name which is rather frustrating. If anyone needs information from this book, please let me know. I am also looking for a book by the same author who lists the 1st Class Recipients of the Red Eagle Order during World War I.
