    1. Looks like a die cast material. You may have to make up a new piece or try gluing together with weldbond the metal pieces?
    2. The silvered dial can be restored by simply applying more silver solution. It will only take to the exposeed brass areas the results are really good. Again only a professional can do it properly. Also there is a simple form of maintaining power fitted. This keeps force on the drive when winding as all clocks actually loose time when wound watch the hands when you wind a clock.
    3. When you wind clocks always count the number of turns to full wind then when you rewind back off a couple.
    4. Take it to a profesional horologist, if its the barrel spring this should not be a problem.
    5. Hi, your clock would have originally been painted black, it is missing the sweep seconds hand. The movements are 8 day and well made, however with a platform balance wheel escapement the pivots run in jewells and must be lubricated. So if you are going to use it as a time piece you must have it professionally overhauled. You can get a replacement seconds hands for these clocks and modify it to original.
