    1. It is an SA mans buckle. Original? It looks unissued if it is original. That is enough for me to have reservations. This is not my area of expertise so I do not know if they have been replicated but near everything has.
    2. Mike, Thank you very much indeed for this onformation. I was told that the guy had been in Africa but was not sure how reliable that information was being 3rd hand. Much appreciated. I am delighted with this addition to my collection. Best regards Vaughan
    3. Hi, I have acquired this tunic from a friend. Unfortunately the pips had been removed (inexplicable to me why or when) and cannot be found with other of the gentlemans effects. Could anybody please help in identifying the type of pips required to restore this tunic (with pics if possible) and if possible identify the medal ribbons? I only know that the officer was a Major Reginald Brown. It would be very interesting to me if research was a possibility howver that is probably unlikely. Thank`s in advance for any info.
    4. Thank you. I do not display this with or own an appropriate tunic. My focus is generally edged weapons of the period and specifically the early Heer daggers, though I do have others. I only have two tunics to date. One however is Luftwaffe and a very fine example that you may like to see.
    5. I had not looked at this dagger for some time and luftwaffe is not my focus of collecting so I photographed this morning with the intent to offer it for sale. It looks so good I think I will keep it a little longer now and share it with you! A typical late output from Alcoso with blackened fittings What is nice about this piece is that it has never been pulled apart and otherwise played with and has a super blade.
    6. An amazing collection of some very fine and diverse items. My interpretation of small is obviously very different to yours TR stuff is just such a small part of this very comprehensive and diverse forum but it is all that I collect; hence my infrequent visits.
    7. Really nice Kevin, Seeing that Donitz signature reminds me of the one I had. Only post war on an autograph card but I really should have kept it.
    8. A superb collection of documentsand great photographs. With an interesting little history lesson. Very Nice!
    9. This is indeed a super grouping of documents! The promotion citations are impressive!
    10. Demir, thank you so much for taking the time to give the very detailed & lengthy reply for which I am most grateful. kind regards Vaughan
    11. Thank you for your comments. Are you stating that the information "In practice, it seems to have been used primarily as a campaign medal for the Danube Campaign early in the Crimean War" presented on that web site is incorrect? I was unable to find any other reference to this medal on the site although there do appear to have been Crimean medals issued to the British amongst others. However..... they are not quite the same. Please forgive my lack of understanding in this area but I am not a collector of medals.
