    1. The wear on the Centenar medal ribbon on the second bar is much greater than that of the China medal, which seems odd.
    2. Sascha is right, they sent you a picture of the Merit Cross with Swords of the Ernestine House Order. The medal was given to both military and civilian personnel.
    3. Great photo, aside from the MC, what other medals is your grandfather wearing? Regarding the Saxon cross, these come up from time to time on German ebay, or you could look at some German dealers such as Weitze or Huesken.
    4. Don, do you have possession of the medals? I would really like to see this combination. And as Sascha says, the medal was not exclusively a military award.
    5. Reichsrommel.....oh ya, the schyster from China. As an FYI to all members, do not buy from this individual, as he does not back up what he sells. PM for details.
    6. That is a weird one. Hard to believe that this person would get the Chilean order and only a red cross medal from Prussia?
    7. You're right, the middle bar is interesting, you don't often see the 'Seekrieg' spange on the Flandernkreuz. The next one is the 'Treu dem Regiment' cross, a veteran's award, again with a somewhat unusual clasp for torpedo boat service. Note that this is navy, so the ribbon for this one is quite different than the army awards.
    8. Very unusual, but possible combination. I tend to shy away from these metal-backed bars for obvious reasons.
    9. I've seen those Zeppelin badges around, and have no idea if it is a genuine item. The Naval Observer badge is a piece of junk.
