    1. Although the cross looks to be an original, the background (also found on other items listed by the seller) tells me that it may come from Carsten Staegemeir (aka:"Der Afrikaheld"). If this be the case, be very careful and ask for some detailed shots of obverse/reverse before bidding.

I turned it down. For that kind of money I want to be sure, or so sure you can be. Thank?s for all advices

    2. I?m cruising the web for interestring items and I have foubd this X on swedish tradera.

A EK II Schinkel shaped cross i WWI type isue bag with no maker mark but claimed to be identified as a Deumer cross. It?s non magnetic. The price is 2 500 SEK (? 215, ? 263). Is something to think of or just an other piece of metal?

      Thomas :speechless:

    4. I have found a dealer who has an Iron cross 1st class 1813.

He claims it?s made arround 1850 or somewhat later.

It has an open frame in the back, an iron core and a hook applied to the frame.

Dimensions in mm :42.3 x 42.5, width at end of arms 22.5. Weight: 12.7 gms.

The price is fair. When i look in my litterature I don?t find any pictures of any 1813 cross from the middle of the 19th century.

My question to the club is simply. "Is it real or just anotherr piece of metal?"
