Its difficult to explain this in english but there are some differences in german. the word "beim" is the short form of "bei dem". if u stay "beim" car - that means u stay near by the car an do not sit in. The same is true in this case. So he was a kind of attachmanent and not a member of this staff. Mav
Hello Paul, I am sorry, but the originaly meaning of the text "beim Generalstab" ?does not mean that he even was a member of the generalstaff. Quite difficult to explain because its german. I am a native speaker, so I dont think, that he was member, so was related?to this staff. Yours Mav
