Soviet Order of Glory Medals
JensF. replied to a topic in Russia: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Here is the only 2. Class Order of Glory I have. I am still not 100% sure if it is a real 2. class and not a gilded 3. class. It is the thin variation as mentioned above with the serial number 7943. No traces of a removed higher serial are visible. -
I think this combination is not very common. The Lippe Military Merit Medal with swords was only awarded to members of the II. Btl. of Infanterie-Regiment 55. Only wounded soldiers who hadn't an EK were awarded this medal (only 1950 were awarded). It seems that this soldier was wounded and got the MMM first. Later in the war he got the other two medals. -EKII 1914 with maker "S-W" -Lippe-Detmold: War Merit Cross 2. Class -Lippe-Detmold: Military Merit Medal with swords -Hindenburg-Cross

Soviet A huge soviet medal bar - 8 medals

Thanks. I also thought the same. The medals and serials are in a logical order and combination. There is still the possibility, that the owner mounted them himself with the original ribbons. I think it wouldn't make sense to "fake" such a logical award combination just to hope to get more money becaues it is a medal-bar and not single awards. However, as many here said, without papers or more these are only theories. Maybe the jubilee medals are on the second row of medals... -

I think this is one of this "fake group" of 1. Class crosses. You can find the crosses from Oldenburg, Braunschweig and Mecklenburg with exactly the same type of pinback. At the moment they appear quite often at ebay.
