I believe this strawbery piping to be medical general service; instead the caducea with red piping would be medical service within the infantry (or tanks in the case of black piping) division. -

Soviet restoration of medals

you're the winner! an old tip from Italian numastics, given by a fellow member of the GMIC, Lapa. Olive oil is slightly acid, and doesn't cause any degradation. I left the badge 2 months in an oil bath. Then I took him, deceaved to see no changes. But when I wipped it I was surprised to see the green oxydation was now a "mud" which went away with a smooth toothbrush. -

coca-cola is good for ferrous oxydation...but here it is made from brass. We call that "vert de gris" here in France. No, it is another product. but you spotted the working area: the kitchen. -

the star... Czech had an independant serie of partisan units awards, ranging from the star to the tiny badge, including medals, pins in all sorts of metals and enameling. -

this curious piece... 53rd infantry division, "upgraded" by the veteran. The suspension disapeared, and the medaillon has been placed in a custom aluminium "crown". -

ok! I remember this stand! A LOT of fake stuff too. I remember a nice partisan of the komsomol honour diploma, or a genuine partisan 1948 booklet... otherwise too many questionnable items... Glad to see you picked up one of the rare interesting items! -
