Have now added a few more to my meager collection, some HJ and Gua.
Managed to locate a cream version of the one mentioned above, so will post some pictures when it arrives.
Each time i check the web sites there are more that catch my eye, have thought about certain types to specialise in but i see one i like and that idea goes out of the window.
Have been pointed in the right direction to some good sites (Thanks Ian) over in Germany, so hopefully my small collection will continue to grow.

Hello Warthoq,
I live in the other end of the country, I've no first hand experience of Dortmund- but looking through flea-market dates at Dortmund there are markets - every Tuesday at Dortmund-Wabel on Mehrzwecksplatz, Wambler Hellweg - Every Wednesday at Hilda strasse - every Thursday Dortmund-Wambel at the Rennbahn (race-track) - every Saturday again Hilda strasse - University parkplatz, Emil-Figge strasse - Fredenbaumpark Festplatz Eber strasse
I hope this helps - good hunting
regards
Hi Alec
Vielen Danke. I will pass this information on to my sister, and then just hope for the best.
Are you anywhere near the Black Forest?

Hello Warthoq,
Sorry about taking so long replying to you. Kevin's guide line answer is correct as far as it goes. But I should like to add that today in Germany although its not forbidden to sell third reich items on flea-markets so long the swastika is covered over, many market traders choose not to display them - keeping items on themselves or just inside the car. Buyers must make a point of asking them extra, "if they have anything military to sell". After a time you get a bit of intuition who may possibly have anything. So avoid housewives selling second hand clothes - women generally don't go in for militaria - people selling computer games, electrical goods, look for traders selling antique style items, old clocks, books, etc. Not I'm sure a foolproof system, but one I generally go by.
Good Hunting
Hi Alec

Yes you are right for a second time when you say whats comman or not, i have no idea at all, but am hoping that will change in time. I realise i should not ask this but would it be possible to give me a rough idea of what its worth? As its my first just wonder if i was ripped or not

Hi Paul,
This SA tinnie is not very rare, but SA tinnies are collected as a field of their own, (as are HJ) so some command a higher price (see Claymores)
Tinnies are rising in price, but don't get stung by paying too much for the common ones (although I guess you may not know the common ones)
You have one, only another 12.500+++ to go!!
Regards,
Pete

Nice badge, but not bakelite, which does not melt, but plastic, which does.
This maker made many plastic badges.

Hi Pete
Thanks for the info, am a newbe to this field so am bound to make mistakes. You have one major collection by the way, was a pleasure to check out the pictures you posted.
After seeing your posting it peaked my interest in them, did not realise there was such a varied variety of them around.
Is this type of badge rare?

WOw - they've made quite a dent in the PDR in the last two 18 months - progress was quite slow for several years. I wonderif they still plan to rebuild the facade of the Schloss in it's place...
