    1. Hello, It has been sometime since I’ve been active on here since 2005. I have recently obtained a set of armoured reconnaissance collar tabs & shoulder boards. I have been attempting to research the set as the shoulder boards have the number ‘8’ I think the unit (Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 8)was attached to 5th Panzer Division and saw action in France in 1940. If anyone here could tell or direct me to any further information it would very much appreciated.
    2. Hi there, Just a quick question. Where are the die flaws you are referring to? Ben
    3. Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me identify these 3rd Reich items and their exact use. 1. 70mm diam. w/3-swastikas affixed around body. Stamped `MET` & proof mark 2. 65mm diam. w/2-swastikas & early party eagle affixed around body. Stamped `MET` & proof mark. These two items join together and it looks like the base is missing. The sides are silver but the base seems to be silver plated with a brass type metal underneath. My only guess is it could be some type of award but why it comes apart I have completely no idea! If anyone can put me out of my misery as to it's purpose I would be very grateful. 4. Jan, Very impressive collection. And an awesome collection of tank badges. Well done! Best Regards, Ben
    5. Gordon, Thank you for your reply, I quite agree, sometimes the only way to learn is the hard way. I've had the bayonet for sometime now and had a sneaky suspicion that something wasn't quite right!! I have some other bit's & Bob's to show which might be of some interest, these I know to be OK. A piece of silver, well to pices actually which join together! The eagle looks very early but unfortunately is missing possibly two other bits - I haven't the faintest idea what it's purpose is, I'll put it up if you think anyone would be interested. My camera isn't particularly good though! Changing the subject a little I have a 'Close Combat Clasp' up here aswell which know one has commented on yet. This one also has been bugging me - any help on that would be very much appreciated. Many thanks, Ben
    6. Looks good & well presented. I'll definitely be procuring a copy. Well done B.
    7. Thank you all for your reply's. I have compared the 'k' to Rick's chart and it is definatly 1905-06. The cross does look Masonic and yes my wife does like it very much! Many thanks Ben.
    8. Hello, I bought this Cross through Manion's a few months ago for a present for my wife. It is a 44x39mm vaulted silver cross with a high quality enamel surface. Reverse has maker mark 'Spencer London' and silver hallmarks (anchor, Lion, K) Beneath this are the letters - R.S. The cross also came with a 31mm long silver bar mounted on 56mm needle pin (same markings as cross). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Ben
    9. Chris, I had a feeling it was as only dress bayonets are etched. Thank you for your help. Ben.
    10. Hello, I aquired this item a little while ago and wanted to check wether it is original. The CCC is vaulted with excellent detail and with correct width 97.7mm. Many thanks, Ben
    11. Hello there, I have a etched bayonet with says 'SS-Ubungslager Dachau'. Is this an original item? Other markings are '5757' ( which can be made out in photo) and the other side - 'S/176K'. The bayonet looks well used with a fair bit of pitting to the blade. If additional pic's are needed please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Ben.
