never seen this one before
not many fire brigades gives a extra medal for a couple of years in service , because every firefighter gets his civil decoration with green white ribbon for a couple of years in service , i know some of the city does it and mostly there is something to do with fire or axes etc on the medal .
the medal came with others ? maybe you can trace the origin ?

" The second person is wearing Belgian Congo award: A gilt service star (model 1910), medal in the Order of the Lion, another medal (hard to tell if it is also an Order of the Lion or an Order of the African Star), silver service star (model 1889). "
the middle 2 medals are a order of the lion and a order of the african star , all 4 medals are totally related to belgian congo so i think this person has done a great service there , nice set of medals

Wow!
You have all that you require to write an extremely detailed and illustrated book on the subject! Have you considered it?
i have the intention but i can not find the time to do it , i only did it for the WW1 fire cross at my website but now i have to many hobby's and the wife needs a lot of attention to , :D

Nothing small about your collection here! Very nicely displayed too. Any word on the numbers of Hero medals awarded?
it is very hard to find a lot of information about vietnamese medals
thanks

" From what period this piece would be... is it king Albert's chiper on the obverse (in this case is this piece from 1909-1934 period) "
the chiper is always on the front and back but this is a older one because there is a lot of detail i the medal , this is a nice one .
"Like I understand 1914-1918 period cross had swords instead?"
The medals with swords on are a other medal and not for service in the administration
in belgium these medals or the administration are not so expensive , outside belgium ??

Not so common , you can find them in this variation and in a variation with a red cross in the cirkel .

there are a lot of people out there with the same problem , i have a few bad deals with russian buyers .
package arrived at the buyer side but empty , this an happen but i am on ebay and other sites for 10 years and the last few months i had 3 bad deals and all in russia , every time i have a transaction like this i mentioned it in the feedback ( neutral fedback with a lot of text ) so if someone have the same problem with the buyer he can look in the feedback and see it is not the 1st time so mabe the problem is at the side of the buyer and not the side of the seller .
thanks ,

is this the book "Distinctions Honorifiques de la Belgique" ???
if so i am very interested , i know it is a old thread but maybe it is still available ???
Don't get me wrong Tim, this is a very good book and a must in my opinion for the Belgian collector! Let me check with my connections and see if in fact I can procure a copy of the book at a lower price. I paid $40 US for mine some time ago and thought that was high until it was in my hands. Once seeing the contents, the research value became extremely apparent!
Although a solid reference in my mind, I have not found a reference on Belgian orders and medals that meets all your standards above. Trust me, there is a real need for one now! Years ago, I sold off my German, British and US collection to concentrate on Belgian historical and militaria at the consternation of my American collector friends. You have a lot of questions regarding Belgian official medals? Try their un-official medals! No reference material at all! I enjoy your interest and posts here on the forum. Keep up the interest and questions. Gosh, this is fun!
