Dear Lion, It is General's insignia for a beret. There is another one (same style) for a pick hat and one more for shoulder loops. This one made in Pakistan.

It is a very nice badge - Aleppo Municipality. I will try to get a better picture later.

Just would like to show the same medal (50th Army Anniversary) in original box.

After a some research and friends advises from Syria, I may say that it is a locally made product, used by military to cover their needs after the shortage of the original ones. It seams to be made at the same factory where Syrian-Lebanese medals produced.
