    1. I know some people who got it for less than that... But thank you for the correction VETERAN, you were correcte on the Carte du Combattant. 3 months in combat it is.
    2. You are almost correcte on the description, just to add a little more if I may, the Campains of Napoleon in North Africa are responsible for this name anyway, the first soldiers at the time were wearing long black socks.....so the name Pied Noir was adopted by the local. Later on, You had to be born in Algeria from French parents to be called a real Pied Noir. I need to make a correction, yes, the "Evil Colo" were like the US Army during the Indian Campains or during the Pacification of the Philipines. During this time of North African Colonisation of 1839 to 1870, two third of the Algerian population was killed...
    3. No problem, this is not my style anyway to joke on people past, I buried mine when I was 18, he was a Colonel at the time. PEACE.
    4. I was under the impression that you father was a late WW II veteran as well , sorry for that, just trying to give some feedback....
    5. You welcome, Paix a ce sodat...( may he rest in peace.)
    6. VERY NICE COLLECTION, YOU SHOULD ADD THE WW II VICTORY MEDAL AS WELL..
    7. BATTLE OF PIAVE, ITALY, the French, British and US fought in this area in 1918... He may be got his medal from that area...
    8. Thank you Bison, you are so correcte !! Bataillon Coree, I knew some non-commisioner Officers in the 70 who had tons of decorations when they came back from Korea...
    9. Music de l'Arm?e de terre, WW I ??
    10. Tr?s belle m?daille ..
    11. You have a little of everything here, Paras, Infantry Colonial, Armor even Air Force may be...
    12. Have you try to research Italian Military Medals for sale, type in Italian first....
    13. This is correcte, anybody under the rank of Sous-Lieutnant, even and Caporal can,( he better be shot in the leg first)... My Grand-Father got it was he was Adjudant-Chef.
    14. I am sorry I did not seen the form, thank's. Very nice medals by the way...
    15. Do you have a better picture....I kind of guess most of them, but a better picture would be super. Thank you.
    16. I was not questioning Johnson military services, your picture is fantastic, so both WWI and WWII, ok, got it, thank you .. Anyway, the Italian War cross look very pretty also, why is she on the picture if I may ask..
    17. Very interesting document .....So glad I was able to read you all !! Concerning the Medaille Militaire, this medal was created for non commissioned officers, this medal is the equivalent to the Legion of Honneur for soldiers and Sailors as well . You may gain it in combat or for very good service, generally after 15 years of service. Anybody receiving it may apply to the "Carte du Combattant". My Grand-Father got it after WWII, my father who was an officer did not , he got the "red" instead" ( Legion of Honnor). The Medaille Militaire is not a croix de Guerre, the creator was the Emperor Napoleon III in 1852.
    18. What a beautiful black and white picture again, but I have a question concerning one of the soldier. Ok, I see the Medal of Honor on the left chest , but the second soldier has the same one around his neck...? So this could explain that the person on the left just got decorated..? Also, I see several medals from the "Grest War" ( WW I ) but the Dog Tag is from WW II. This is a little confusing...Dog tags in WW I were round . Left to right , American Defence 1941 WW I Defence Medal with 4 "Metal Bar" Small WW I Defence Medal Medal of Honor Pin ? WW II Medal Smal medal of Honor (reproduction ) WW II Dog Tag Don't know the last one yet... :o
    19. Beautiful picture, thank you .. I don't mean to be rude but this must be an (army) reproduction made in Europe after 1918, the Medal of Honor size has never been small. She was issued during and prior WWI, Civil War and during the Indian Campains ,but the small version does not exist in the USA.... Medals of Honor are always carried around the neck...
    20. The Star is a citation bronze Star, that person was cited for an acte of Honor during an operation..
