Interesting reply Nick,
would there be any photos of 1939 Khalkin Gol Mongolian era officers showing the pre 1944 (bastion/spearhead shaped) cuff insignia ?
I know they had various 1-3 or4 upward pointing chevrons in white , gold and blue.
Never know how many chevrons for each rank though - 2nd lieutenant, lieutenant, captain, major , colonel , probaly blue for junior ranks .

Hello does anyone know what the design was for the shoulder/upper arm badge for the British 5th Division during WW1? Are there any illustrations? I think it might be a blue and yellow square divided diagonally. Thanks, Ranjit.

Ranjit,
I did a book search (www.bookfinder.com) and found 12 copies for sale. All at either Amazon UK or Germany.
The prices range from £8 - £129 on Amazon UK and depend on new or used as well as condition.

Hello again Mike, Just what i was thinking, the helmet doesn't seem too practical, and i know the Saudi Arabian army of the time based their uniform on the Arab Legion uniform , and the Saudis wore the cloth headdress. Ranjit.

I think the Italians raised 3-4 battalions of Albanian militia and some irregulars during WW1 on the Salonika front.
Irregulars, the coloured illustration from the Italian Pinterest, not sure where its originally from.
