Hello Chip!
Thank you for your response. I agree with you. I haven´t found any infos, but I will try to find something

The eagle is the same as for the Marine, but the anchor is missing. I agree with Chip

Just as an added note....the Lederlitewka came with and without the automobile collar device, the difference being that the ones with the device indicated that the wearer had earned his military Führerschein (driver's license).
Chip
Hi Chip!
That´s right! BUT! I don´t know, what about people, who HAD the civilian driver license before? Did they wear that badge too?

Hello!
Here is another example

Hi Chip!
His patents are: Leutnant 27.2.1896, Oberleutnant 8.3.1905, Hauptmann 3.3.1911, Major 14.12.17
In the bav. Rangliste of 1906 I have a handwritten marking, that he was Adjutant of the II./Btl.
In the bav. Rangliste of 1913 he was Hauptmann und Kompaniechef of the 5th company with the Jubiläums-Medaille
In the bav. Rangliste of 1918 he wore the bay. Mil.Verdienstkreuz 4.Klasse mit Schwertern.
The Ehrenrangliste says: Major a.D.
I coulnd´t find him in the both Ranglisten of 1920 and 1925.

Here is a nice one from my collection. Inf.Rgt.116
"Hessians back from a fight"

There really are some strange things in the document...
The wounded badge, awarded by the Lt.
The date of the firs attack. I suppose, the unit leader has better things to do than writing a certification like this JUST after the fights
Why is the number 6 written in latin letters above (VI)?
I´m not a specialist for those documents, I just noticed these things...

Hi Chris!
A phantastic document!
The 15.7.18 was the day, when the 1.Army attacked Reims. (6.Garde-Inf.Rgt. < Gade-Ers.Div. < Gen.Kdo. Langer (XXIV.RK) < 1.Armee)
Together with the 26.Inf.Div. they fought against the french 124.Division d´infanterie (IV. corps d´armée < 4° armee) north of Baconnes (20km south-east of Reims, 3km north-west of Mourmelon-le-grand).
Garde-Ers.Div. did attack by the first ordre of the group at 4am without any success. At a lot of places the 6.Garde-Inf.Rgt. and Inf.Rgt.399 fought a long time in hand-grenades fights.
They took 800 prisoners and didn´t have too much own losses.

Hi Christer!
I won´t anything wrong, but I haven´t found him in the list.
But don´t be shy to ask Thorsten of the following website:

Hi Marcin!
There were two different MG exercises in Beverloo.
1) MG-Ausbildungskommando Beverloo (built from MG-Ausbildungskommandos I and II)
2) MG-Lehr-Kommando bei der Feldartillerie-Schießschule Beverloo

File Name: Chart of german shoulder straps
File Submitter: The Prussian
File Submitted: 18 Nov 2012
File Category: Germany
This one should be a quickly help in determining german shoulder straps. The letters upon the straps are normally in gothic letters.
I hope I did everything´s well. Excuse me for the one or another mistake, I haven´t found yet...

Hi Chip!
I have seen the offer at ebay. I showed it my friends, when we met in the restaurant (where we meet each two months). All of them said, it might be a saxon copper board

Hi Chip! I´ve seen the green darted one too. I assume, it´s saxon police in the Weimar era

Hi Chip!
Like Kraus said:
C.IV Maschinengewehr-Truppen
Felduniform M1907: "Feldrock. In Preußen graugrün. Alle Vorstöße ponceaurot"
Neuuniformierung 1915/16: "... fiel die besondere Uniform der MG-Abteilungen fort Die Abteilungen sollten die Uniform desjenigen Truppenteils anlegen, dem sie angegliedert waren."
2. Gebirgs-MG-Formationen
Felduniform: Von der Abschaffung der graugrünen MG-Uniformen wurden die Gebirgs-Abteilungen nicht betroffen..."
28.5.1915: The Geb.MG.Abt. were set-up in may 1915. Then they wore the uniforms of the regular uniforms of the MG-Abtl. (greygreen shoulder-straps, red pipings). The bavarians had fieldgrey shoulder-straps, light-green pipings.). (2.9.1915 Württembeg ; Bavaria wore the fieldgrey uniforms, because they didn´t know the grey.-green uniforms)
21.9.1915: Abolition of the greygreen uniforms for MG-Abt, BUT NOT for mountain troops!
So every Geb.MG.Abt. had red-piped, greygreen shoulder straps. To me it sounds, like the Geb.MG.Abt. didn´t have the M1915 Bluse, but only the Waffenock. Please check your photos

Andreas,
Kraus says that with the new uniform regulations of 1915/16 that the special unforms of the MG-Abteilungen were discontinued. From then on, the detachments should wear the unform of the unit they are assigned to, that is, an infantry or cavalry tunic. So, essentially, from that point, graugrün uniforms were no longer being officially worn.
Chip
Chip,
That´s right for MG-Abtl., but NOT for Geb.NG-Abtl.! Kraus writes, from dec.8, 1915 the reygreen uniforms had to be continued to wear. ( > 2. Gebirgs-MG-Formationen - Felduniform)

I haven´t heard about that, Chip. Are you sure, that a small unit like this could have changed their uniforms during the war?
0 -
Hi Chip!
I don´t think so. Please have a look at Kraus.
He wrotes, that Geb.MG.Abtl. the grey-green uniforms of the MG-Abtl. Those shoulder-straps had red pipings (bavarians green).
Bikers instead had Jäger uniforms with green pipings

Unbelievable! Congratulations! If I need a book badly, I´ll give you the job to look for...

Hello Chip!
Thank you for your uniform declarations! I´m always be amazed, that you´ve got a shoulder strap for every single branch of service! But now to your questions. Here we go:
Res.Radf.Kp.78: First belonged to the Radf.Btl.1. (2nd.Inf.Radf.Brig.), left this Btl. in sept. 1918 to become a MGK in the Radf.Btl.7. It became demobilized in Jg.Btl.10
Radf.Kp.201: First belonged to the 201.Inf.Div., later Heeresgruppe Kronprinz Rupprecht, then 4.Armee, then, 17.Armee. It became demobilzed in Jg.Btl.2

Andy,
you´re right! The best informations about the "filedgrey.-bikers"- formation you can get in the "Zeitschrft für Heereskunde", N° 185 and 186 (from 1963).

That´s right Andy! Bravo!!!
At mobilization, each Jg.Btl. had 2 bicycle-companies (Jg.Btl. 10 and 1st bavarian has 3 companies ; active and reserve 8 only had one).
During the war, more companies were set-up, so too the Radfahr-Kompanie Nr.151. First in the 6th Reserve-Division. After the re-organization of the bicycle-bataillons, it later came to the 5th bicycle-bataillon
The 5th bataillon (after re-organization) consisted of:
Staff
1st bicycle comp.Jg.Btl.6
2nd bicycle comp. Jg.Btl.6
Bicycle comp. 151
1st bicycle comp. Jg.Btl.14
2nd bicycle comp. Jg.Btl.14
Bicycle comp. 54
MGK
Because the 151 was the only unit, wearing Tshakos, and we see a Jäger uniform with Karabiner, it´s the Radfahrer-Kompanie Nr.151.
I think, it´s a nice, rare photograph

Yes, I´ll wait. But I hope, this thread will not be forgotten... Chip might know the solution. But, anyway, he will be busy with your other thread (soulder board Jg.Rgt.3), Chris...

Hello!
The Rangliste can´t help; he wears is own uniform, so he´s not attached to that unit. He´ll be a member of an official visit of the german army. I´d like to know the reason!
