    1. side view.--note the Abalone or Mother of Pearl inlays
    2. Here is a Chinese dagger that I was given as a birthday gift back in the '70s. All I know about it is that it came from a antique store in Seatle. It is not military but it does appear to be old and is very ornate. Has anyone seen anything like this one?
    3. Mine has been on order sence late November. I am sure it will be worth the wait.
    4. the darkside is calling--------
    5. I did notice that and thought that possibly that was where the cross was resting in the case. If it is not the correct backingplate then I would most likely do what I could to make the set right.
    6. "IF" the backingplate is original to the cross, then it does not seem right to replace it with another backingplate. -------just my opinion
    7. Nice collection Robin. This one is not military but it is cool.
    8. here is mine to compare against--
    9. Is it cast or is it die struck? I have a very nicely detailed EK2 that is die stamped Nuesilber
    10. Does anyone have a known Steinhauer 1914 EK to post for us?
    11. For me, the biggest draw back is the language barrier. It is hard for me to study a unit history or try to research an individual when I only recognise maybe a half dozen words. Another thing is that I just do not come across them. I have never seen one at the shows or antique stores that I go to. I do not know enough about how to tell a good one from a bad one to trust buying them off ebay.
    12. Very nice card Ralph. This particular series of cards was printed back in 1905. I would think that these cards in good condition are a fairly uncommon item to come across. here is my copy
    13. Congratulations on a job well done. That is an amazing chain
    14. This is a Vietnam era "John Ek Commando Knife" This particular one is named to a captain in the 5th SF. It was returned to the Ek factory because the Captain wanted to replace it with one with a crossguard. I bought it from John Ek's son.
    15. Soory for the small picture--I can not figure out the new system for posting pictures and it seems that my post size has been down sized.
    16. here is another one for your approval. A clean, maker marked Godet on a 40mm ribbon
    17. LOL I would save my money and look for a better example of a 1870
    18. And now for the front of the cross. Notice how his pictures of his 1870s crosses are always tipped in such a way that you can not see the crowns. My guess would be a deliberate attempt to hide a 9th bead crown or a muffin crown. It's hard to judge from the bad picture but I am not to excited about the style of date on this one. But it's had to tell from the picture.
