    1. Again, Thanks a lot to all of you for your great help!!! Is there any information about the orders he got during ww1 - probably in the "Ehrenrangliste"? J?rgen (westfale)
    2. Hi again! First of all I would say "Thank you!" to both of you, because both informations are not known for me till now. Here you will see a picture of the signature I asked for, and NOW I think it looks like Seelbach. BEFORE the only letters I have identified were the "lba" in the center... Does anyone of you have some more details of him? westfale
    3. Hi, does anyone of you know, who was the commander of the prussian IR 372 in ww1, especially 1918? I've got an document of my fathers grandfather, who served in this regiment and got the iron cross, but I could not identify the signature... It would be great for my personal research to know the commandiing officer! Thanks for your help westfale
    4. Here is the image - there are some problems to put them into the post of me before... [attachmentid=59466]

    7. Thanks a lot for all your help! I have never seen before such an interesting collection of different 1st class MVK's; you all have wonderful awards in your collection - when I got my MVK, I will show it here! Again thanks a lot to all of you! georg (westfale)
    8. Thanks "dond" - a really nice cross, especially due to the case! @Mike_K: Also an really nice collection!!! You said: "middle right is probably 20s/30s". Which one do you mean? Top middle? I have seen such an cross a few weeks ago - is it ww1-time? Thanks westfale
    9. Hello! Because I would like to buy an Military merit cross 1st class of Mecklenburg-Schwerin could anyone who had such an cross show me a picture of front and rear for better detection of a fake/a real one? Thanks a lot for your help! westfale
    10. Hello! As a collector of orders and decorations I am sometimes also interested in some accessories of uniforms, too. So I found a webside of the maufacteurer of german daggers of ww1 and ww2, who made some modern versions of these old daggers. Here my question: does anyone of you have got one of these daggers or swords and could tell me something about the quality and so on? I know that these daggers are NOT so good as the older types, but these are - for me - to expensive, so I think about the others as an alternative. What do you think? Thanks for your help! westfale
    11. Hello! Could you post me an picture of the "War merit medal" from the grand dutchy of oldenburg? I've never seen it before, and the picture in the book of bayreiss isn't really good, so I hope to find here someone who had the medal in his collection... Thank a lot westfale
    12. Yes, that's exactly what I would like to see! Thanks a lot - now I know that it is correct that the space between the arms and the crowns are removed by hand and the upper crown i the correct one! Do you have some other saxonian awards?
    13. Correct! Do you have a bigger picture of the crown between the arms of the cross and of the crown above the cross, too? Thanks!
    14. Hello! Does anyone have some detailed pictures of an officers decoration of the cross for merit in war of sachsen-meiningen, if possible of an early-war piece? I have found here some pictures, but I am still missing a big one with better seen details, so I hope you can help me. Thanks a lot in advance! westfale
    15. Thanks to all for the information, for the the good pictures and also for the links! Two question after reading all this: What is the difference between the "normal" red/blue ribbon - not the ribbon for valor! - and the war-ribbon both given to the star of romania with swords? In my oppinion I think the swords indicates "in the fire" or "in the war", so why the difference also with the ribbon? Could someone give me the reason why? and also @ Dave: Could it be correct that most of the awards given to the germans are given to members of the staffs and not the "normal" officers at the front? I ask you because I have seen in the past some pictures of men who get romanian awrds, and all of them were members of the "generalstab"! Again, thanks to all - and sorry for my english! crusader
    16. Hello! Does anyone of you now something of romanian ordes - especially the order of the crown and the order of the star of romania - given to german officers during the war at the eastern front? It would be great if someone can give me some details about the orders and about the amount of them given as i asked before! Thanks a lot in advance westfale
    17. Hello! Could anyone give me some datails about the prussian order of the crown (preussischer Kronenorden), e.g. number of awards, pictures, documents? Thanks a lot! westfale
    18. Hello again! According to your answers should this be an DFC ww2/Viet Nam-era? westfale
    19. Hello! I would like to ask the specialists about the DFC (US) for some details about the difference between the ww2-versions and later made crosses, because I could get an older one and I would not buy an modern type - a picture, for example, would be a great help! And two another questions: Are only the ww2-types numbered, or also later crosses, for example the crosses for korea or vietnam? Are there differences between the army crosses and crosses for navy, air force or strangers? And, at least: Does anyone know anything about the amount of awarded crosses? Thanks a lot for your help! westfale
    20. Hello Tony, Hello Ed, thanks a lot for your help! Here is an additional question about the stars: Do you have some details about the amount of medals which were issued and also some detailed information about what was necessary to get these stars? Or do you have an internet resource for this information? westfale
    21. Hello, Tony! Here is the picture of my italy star - what do you think? regards westfale
    22. Hello! First of all sorry for my english, but I hope you understand my question anyway... A few days ago I've found an italy star for my collection; in comparison with my other stars this star looks different, just like a little bit "golden". the ring was a small like the others, but the surface... Could it be a star later produced? Or, I hope not!, a copy? And another qouestion: do you have some information about copies and how I can see them? Thanks a lot for your help westfale
