    1. It is approx. 42 x 42 mm. Having measured all my other Meck-Schw MVK1....they all appear to be the same size at approx. 42 x 42 mm.
    2. Here is an unusual MVK1, marked Godet 800 on the thin, round, needle pin. It's dimensions are smaller than a normal Mecklenburg MVK1. Opinions appreciated. The "4" in 1914 is not typical. It is closed, while most Meck-Schw MvKs are open at the top.
    3. Heiko.....agreed. I didn't mean to say that Oldenburg isn't good, just not in my collecting field
    4. Nice bar.....I agree, post 1934 bars don't have the attraction for my collecting preference but this combination is fun! Good score!
    5. Thanks for your help Seeheld.....jumping back into collecting after a long hiatus and I'm very rusty....too bad it isn't Mecklenburg. I would love to add another to my collection but it is seems not today.
    6. Is it odd for an officer not to have any awards?...this is essentially just service award for the unification and a long service award for 9 years.
    7. Jumping back into collecting, I picked up this 2x Mecklenburg bar with original ribbons....in for the unification but out before the Franco-Prussian...please let me know your thoughts.
    8. I'm with you on that one Rick...... Prices may have sky rocketed recently but it'll soon be realized that you can't eat or burn that militaria...........healthy markets (like militaria collecting) have a self-correcting behavior built into them.
    9. Thanks Gordon. I would have never guess. But what does the year signify?
    10. Chris, I agree....that's what I said when I got it. It must have been cherished from a distance by the family before I got it. No buffing here! Steve
    11. Seeing all the Bavaria lately, I'd like to add my own. A nice 2X bar by Weiss & Co. 950 marked and 900 on the swords.
    12. I would have to disagree with much of what you said. I think the rivits are GWL. They have the typical GWL look. Colors look fine to me and compare to other UAG in finish. I will post close up as requested over the weekend. Thanks for the input, Steve
    13. I will disagree with you that it is a fake. Have you seen others? What portion of the reverse "looks horrible"? Steve
    14. JTW Very good! I've been schooled! -- and I'm the one in possession of the item for nearly 10yrs! Sometimes I overlook the obvious. Steve
