    1. Here is proof the occupation medal from 1919 was given out and worn after WW2.. From my collection, the uniform of an ESB officer and a portrait of him wearing the same jacket.
    2. that is a maximum one pound letter packet - this coat never could have been sent that way, and it for sure weighs more than a pound. 24USD was a fair and possibly low end shipping cost to Europe via Global priority mail in a box. The max would have been 37USD flat rate Global Priority. Registration would be an additional cost.
    3. The Navy PUC ( the one with the horizontal stripes) ...check the star to see if it is blue.. Early awards used a blue ceramic star to denote subsequent awards of the Navy PUC. Due to production difficulties, this was later changed to a blue enameled star. In 1949 the appurtenance was finally changed to a bronze 3/16 inch star.
    4. Notice the similiarity of catches on three of these wings. The one of the far left is brass, which probably means this is an pre or early war wing, before brass was needed for the war effort.
    5. One of my personal favorites, the Glider pilot wing.
    6. next up the wing of the Bombardier. The fletching on the wings stands out as well as the bomb device, which was seperately applied.
    7. A company in sleepy little Attleboro Massachusetts named American Metal Crafts company was known for its premier military insignia. Among that insignia were the wings of the American aviator. AMCRAFT wings seem to have a personality all their own. Just different enough to allow for artistic license, they have become highly sought after by modern day collectors.
    8. Thanks for the warm welcome, Bob. I have more wings to share if there is any interest.
    9. and the maker mark.. Feel free to add "nice things in small packages" of your own. I would really like to see other boxed wings.
    10. I think these riveted Balfour wings are just wonderful.
    11. The flocking in the box has suffered a bit, as there were some mini wings pinned to it.
    12. I would like to use my first post here to share a personal favorite from my USAAF wing collection.
