Found this hat, but I am stumped by the insignia. I have found similar examples that are Royal Thai in origin, but nothing matches. FWIW the hat is definately styled after the classic Marine Corps 8 point cover. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks

While I have not bothered to read the article I can tell you that I have used some compact IR laser designators that will zap your eye and give you migraines for life, you won't even know it until the pain starts as there is no blink response to IR....

Great info, thanks!! I had to google "rosette", and some learning has occured. 8^) Would it be safe to assume that this one was likely made between 1954 & 1959 when Cuba went to Castro? Or is this jeweler known to have stayed in business into the Castro years? Would it be bad form for me to ask what something like this would be worth? I have no idea what it is made of but it is feels darn heavy too me.....
