    1. There’s a southern cross decoration hiding somewhere.... that and a police medal for bravery....
    2. Here are all the medals I have, let me know if any of these you’d like close ups of. jan Couple orders/medals missing from those pics... will try to get them tomorrow. jan
    3. Soooo, did anybody here win the real one that just sold for $4850? I topped out at an optimistic $4800. looking at you Bob jan
    4. Hi again, Saw your other threads about needing pictures. Check out this thread started by me late brother many moons ago. Dutchboy.. I have all of his medals and reference material now so I’d be happy to help. https://gmic.co.uk/topic/9458-matt-p39s-south-african-collection/
    5. hi there, I may not be able to solve the question of fake or not, but here is what i can tell you.The quality of the two types is vastly different. The type 1, is a pretty well made, thick and heavy medal and clearly the real deal. The 2nd type is made of metal of some kind but it is very thin and very light. The rear is obviously blank and the front, although rather cleanly stamped, is certainly not the same the type 1. The coat of arms in the middle is larger for starters. So is it a fake? I suspect it is, as none of the many other homeland medals I have are of this poor a quality. Can I be sure? No. Hope this helps and please see the pictures for more fuel on the fire. Jan
    6. Hi all, Wandered in from the Mongolian section in the hopes you might be able to answer a question for me. Are the whereabouts of K. Voroshilov’s orders and medals known? A museum in Moscow would be my guess, but who knows?? Thank you! Jan
    7. Hi Jan You’re more than welcome. Jan
    8. Hi there, It looks fine to me.... on my phone.1945 type. Definitely an unawarded bank escapee from back in the day. I think 400 produced and highest known is 398 so this one is about as high as you can get.. Take a look at this long thread for more info. https://gmic.co.uk/topic/4240-order-of-the-red-combat-banner/ Price? Who knows these days. Haven’t seen one for sale in years other than on collectrussia which has #60 for sale for a little under 2k. If I were in the market for one and had to have one. Maybe $1200-1350 for this serial number. Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth more than $800-900. I am speculating and basing this on what I’d be willing to part with if I had to have it. Hope this helps jan
    9. Congrats Bob! Wonderful addition. The blue book help at all with narrowing down the suspect? jan
    10. You’re welcome! Glad I could help with your eBay listing. jan ps. With a hint of sarcasm.
    11. HI there, Not sure if this is in the book but the inscription says 40 years, m(ongolian) P(eople’s) military. Or a close approximation. Jan
    12. I was close with 16.5k........shame. bob did you get the inner Mongolian merit medal? jan
    13. Hi there, lovely specimen you have there. I’m pretty sure that none of the type 2s were from the bank auction. J03s are a different story. Jan
    14. I had to take a second look at these but I agree with utopis... fake. one thing gives it away for me, but I’ve been wrong before. Jan
    15. Another one just listed on EBay.... I have offered $8.00.... fingers crossed!!! serial # is 291... some of his other offerings are equally “rare”.
    16. Considering that there are at least three other mongolian awards ahead of the ribbon in question and three more after it, one of which was modified to more or less work, I'm pretty sure this one is meant to be for a Polar star. The colours are perfect except for the little red edges. Yes, it is also too wide but it makes sense in my book. Mind you I have been wrong before....frequently if you ask my wife. jan
    17. 3 years later and still not sold..... go figure. jan
    18. The general with the Soviet graduation badge should make for a nice story.
    19. Congrats! Glad that went to a good home! anybody see the 2nd or 3rd award yet? Jan

Hi there, It's been a while but here is a little something I've been looking for for a long time. Surprisingly good quality and most of all the size was a surprise. 4.5cm x 3.5cm. Red star just to compare. The pin is long gone but I'm thrilled with it all the same. Jan
    21. I’d trade my Yugoslav flag orders for some of those Mongolian goodies!! wonderful stuff they have there! jan
