    1. I also want to add to this thread that Feldgendarmen weren't bulletproof as many people think. Actually they were one of the first to arrive and to leave. First photograph is honoring a fallen comrade (much emotion in this one, this photograph really touches me) and the second one is a photograph of the "Kessel von Wjasma". Both are from Feldgendarmerie-Trupp 5. From this Trupp I've an entire photogroup and one Urkunde which belonged to Albert D. of this unit. Gordon, love the photo of Sonderverband 287!
    2. Really seldom photograph of the LW-Feldgendarmerie! I can understand why this is your favourite. I think I saw this one some years ago, can't remember exactly. A bright, shineful photo. Thanks for sharing.
    3. I do really like this studioportrait. He is also wearing the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz.
    4. Many thanks! Could you use this form? NAME, PRENAME: DATE OF BIRTH, PLACE: DATE OF DEATH, PLACE: TYPE OF DEATH, DETAILS: RANK, FUNCTION: UNIT, SPECIFIC: COMMANDER: AWARDS: EXTRA DATA: Gordon W., herby a close-up of the previous photo.
    5. Indeed, very nice shot. The Feldgendarmerie officer, what does he wear above the cufftitle?
    6. Gordon, I'm curious that you'll spot something on this photograph. P.S. 75k is low, I always have to edit many photos to get under it: cropping it, small size...
    7. SS-Feldgendarm with the Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in wear! Only wearing the "SS-Feldgendarmerie" cufftitle. The lady also has a real Gestapo look! Gordon, you will also see on the first photograph the SS men (photographs taken in 1941) that they are wearing the SS Arm Eagle, Police Eagle (Gendarmerie?) and "Feldgendarmerie" cufftitle! All in one.
    8. I forgot to add that you'll see on the background his orange piped W-SS visor.
    9. Many thanks, Gordon Williamson! A honor to hear this from you. This is also my only photograph where this occures. I have plenty more to add to my other thread and more upcoming. It is a three number digit. I am not certain of the number, I will make a better scan and post it tomorrow. Yet I ask myself why would a Feldgendarm wear an Uberschühe, or numbered shoulderboars? Well I'm making a personellist of the Feldgendarmerie. It would be practicly impossible to have all names yet I try to make a complete as possible list. Especially those who fallen and ranking officers. Feldgendarmerie is the least studied unit from the second world war, there is so many things unknown and waiting to be discovered.
    10. SS-Hauptsturmführer d.R. / Hauptmann der Gendarmerie (later Major der Gendarmerie and SS-Sturmbannführer) Hermann RAECKE.
    11. One of my favourite, I do really like this shot. The quality is amazing yet as you can understand. I reduced the quality dramaticly for (future) publishing reasons.
    12. "Feldgendarmerie! Halt!" This thread is meant to be a study in the Feldgendarmerie and only the Feldgendarmerie. Whether the unit is part of the Heer, Luftwaffe Marine or the Waffen-SS, all are welcome. The study will be based upon how the Feldgendarmerie acted, performed their jobs, how they handled situations and their uniforms and much more.. To begin... Amazing SS-Feldgendarmerie photographs. They are developed from a negative roll of a Waffen-SS unit, and much more in detail a SS-Felgendarmerie unit. On the outside of the negative carton it reads: "1941 ... Fahrkontrolle im besetzten Frankreich (Vesoul) U.v.D. Nachrichten Hilf.. ..". Some words are inreadable or for the better eyes. Vesoul is a French town in the Départment of Haute-Saòne. During the period when these photographs are taken (Early 1941, more precisly January and February) the only Waffen-SS unit which was there, was SS-Division "Reich". The numberplate which is clearly visible also matches this unit. We can conclude that this unit belonged to SS-Division "Reich". I finaly identified the SS-Hauptsturmführer as SS-Hauptsturmführer d.R./ Hauptmann der Gendarmerie Hermann Raecke, commander of the Feldgendarmerie-Trupp of SS-Division Reich.
