  1. Hello gents, can anybody give me more information on this knight's cross, I bought it as an original early version made by Deumer. Someone told me this is clearly a fake one from a later period. Anyone more info? it is a 3 piece construction and magnetic. kind regards, Roeland
  2. Next up is a Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. This was another Ebay purchase which I think I lucked out on... as if I remember correctly I paid around $15 for it. I'd waited years to get some examples of this award but they always seemed to go for too much. So glad I waited. I keep hoping I'll be able to find a case for that one down the road as I think that will really set it off. I'm one of those folks who loves cased awards. Almost to the end... Dan
  3. Hello all, Here a general assault badge in his 1957 apperance. It has a short needle and is worn. Can you date those 57er badges or is this impossible? What about the short needle - on google i just found long needles on this badge. Sorry for the bad pictures - just had my phone right now. If you want i can post better pics in a few hours when im home. The needle looks brown on those pictures - but its just worn off Greetings Stefan
  4. Hello gents, I will show you the "Bundesverdienstorden" or sometimes also called the "Bundesverdienstkreuz" of the Federal Republic of Germany. This decoration was issued on 07.09.1951 and signed by president Mr. Theodor Heuss. I start with the lowest of 8 classes. In international range they call the class -medaille- Die Verdienstmedaille - Medal of Merit On the left side you find the ladies items. In the middle the miniature. On the right side you see the decorations for man. Diameter of the medal = 38 mm, by the miniature it is 16 mm. The ribbon is 30 mm, by the miniature it is 15 mm. The ribbon bar is 25 mm. Hope that you enjoy it The next class is coming soon.
  5. (Einsatzmedaille Fluthilfe 2002) Awarded to members of the German armed forces, of foreign armed services, of civilian rescue forces and to foreign citizens who assisted with the flood disaster relief efforts in Germany in the summer of 2002. It was approved for wear by the Minister of Defence but was created by the Ministry of the Interior. The medal is awarded in the same class to all German soldiers regardless of rank. It is the only type of its kind in the German awards system. Some German federal states created their own flood medals for its citizens, but the Flood Service Medal 2002 is the only federally created flood relief decoration in Germany.
  6. Here I can show you some of the prototypes of the Long Service Crosses for the Bundeswehr, wich was designed in 1964, but never realised. Does anyone have some more or other samples? Regards Red
  7. This is the first (Federal) German decoration for bravery since 1945: The new "Ehrenkreuz der Bundeswehr f?r Tapferkeit", introduced on 10th October 2008 (not yet awarded). I just got the ribbon bar for it:
  8. Hey all, got these Leistungsabzeichen. They have a much higher quality then my Leistungsabzeichen. Gold and Silver Grade are Maker Marked with K&Q - the bronze grade has an to me unknown maker K&Q Unknown
  9. Guys, Part of a recently passed Luftwaffe old boy. will post the WW2 in correct forum. The rest!
  10. Guys, A few bits and bobs from a former border guard. Not keen on the swimwear, note the cheeky shot of the DDR pair on patrol. This could almost be a WW2 album at first glance, very similar in content!
  11. Hello all, here my small collection of Blutspendeehrennadeln all made of .925 silver and the pendant is made of .585 gold. I found so many Blutspendeehrennadeln but just a few are actualy made of precious metal. Feel free to post yours as well - they are prety uncommon to find.
  12. Got this patches some days ago Patch from U10 Tieftauchtopf Neustadt / Holstein two others belonging to this lot, also submarine related Kind regards Andreas
  13. Guys, This is amongst a box full of paper from one family, looks to be 3 brothers with war service and the family was split as there is an East German conection too! Still sorting through the paperwork.
  14. Guys, Would not normaly pick this up as they are heavy and I have enough of them but this has a nice Decal on the front, it is not a sticker but similar to the WW2 era helmet decals if that makes sense?
  15. Guys, While helping my wife with one of her customers collection/deliveries, I met a rather nice bloke, when we went again to deliver the finished item he rather kindly gifted me this scroll with the words of the song which they still use today. Turns out he is quite high up in the BW, Lt Gen Jacobson and he knows a few of my old bosses as well. He is a thoroughly nice bloke and very down to earth. His wife is lovely too she is an ex British Officer, quite unusual for them to have married but a nicer couple you would struggle to find. I just need a nice frame now and to get it on the wall. As an aside there are a lot of versions of this catchy tune on youtube, I have not found a version with the 3rd verse being sung yet!
  16. Hi, I would like to show you one interesting medal of the "Deutscher Wetterdienst" (DWD), the german weather service. This medal will be given for a minimum of 25 years of service not for members of the DWD, but for the people who help with "private service" - which means send data of their instruments (given by the service but used by them) and their reports of specific phenomena etc. It was normally given in a specific case and with an award-certificate from the "Minister für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur". Hope you like it, too! westfale
  17. Gents, just obtained this medal bar which has the following medals :- Einsatzmedaille "Fluthilfe 2002" des Bundes, Viertagekreuz von Nijmegen (Hollandmarsch), Silberne Medaille des IML Haervejesmarsches von Viborg/Dänemark, Medaille des IML Saga-Marsches (Norwegen). My question is.....was this worn by a member of the Bundeswehr/Fire/police or is it a civilian bar ? My thanks in advance of replies.......... Prost ! Steve.
  18. Guys, This is from Sunday, I went out late but still bagged a few bits. Looks like the Unit had his vehicle pennant mounted up? He said he had no interest in keeping it despite having been Bty Commander?
  19. Guys, This handful was cheap and cheerful, it comprises of a bundle of A4 size photographs that are high quality and no doubt pre digital. I will scan them in if there is any interest and there are a couple of doubles.
  20. Here is another set facilitated by my friend, Mattias. Thank you! A very nice set to a medical officer in the Bundeswehr army. I love the beret the most.
  21. Guys, This may have been to an old boy rejoined as he has at least place for between 5 and 6 medal ribbons, sadly this is all there was and I was given these as they are 'junk'. One jacket is very well made and similar to the TR jacket in lining construction. One of the pair of trousers has the green piping one without but it is a bit darker? The tie is plain black. Badges are to the local Pz school in Munster.
  22. Here is a nice representative grouping for Oberstabsgrefeiter Maik Mutschke. He is one of 29 people who've received this award so far. His citation for the award reads: Am 2. Thank you for my friend Matthias, who helped me gather this together. Mr. Mutschke is the man on the far right of this photo. I think that I want to start assembling/collecting these groups as they are greatly contributing to the war of terror.
  23. Gentlemen, I have never bought GDR stuff before. But sometimes you find the one-of-a-kind item you've got to have. Well, I found mine:
  24. I just bought a nice photo on ebay from the German Diplomat Dr Viktor von Zahn-Stranik. The seller told me that he had just sold al the awards from this man. Did anyone save the photo's? Does anyone have more info on this man? Carrier? Awards? I will post the photo asap
