  8. Guys, This is a new one for me, I have of course seen the blue metal tin type, this must be a cheaper expedient measure in cardboard? jock
  9. Here I'd like to post some Luftschutz photos from my personal collection. Any comments are welcome! No.1 Nice and vivid portrait of the Luftschutzfuehrer (that rank was equivalent to the Leutnant in the Wehrmacht). According to his awards, he was WW1 veteran, NSDAP member and for many years served as a civil official. The national emblem is of the latest 1938 model.
  10. Apparently found in the Black Sea. Its waters are remarkably dark and cold, and almost chemically sterile - hence the lack of corrosion or rot or breakdown even of leather - those jackboots and belt are in awesome shape! Wooden shipwrecks have lasted centuries in a similarly well-preserved state in the Black Sea: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2609365/Perfectly-preserved-Nazi-plane-crashed-way-hell-Eastern-Front-bottom-sea.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Larry
  11. Here are scans of two highly detailed devices which were added to the luftschutz ribbon bars. Not commonly found.
  12. Hello, i got this medal in a grouping and i havent held or examined one of these medals in a while and was a little concerned about it. It is probably original but i would like any other opinions on it. Thanks john
  13. Hello to all, I just bought this five-placer over the weekend at a small militaria show. I like the subtle aging on this bar and the Luftschutz Decoration in the center really makes it stand out. Hope you like it! Best regards, Tom
  14. Hello, buckles are not me speciality or my collecting field but i got this one as part of a grouping and would like some opinions on it thanks john
  15. hello, I got a grouping for a Emil Kroger of the Luftschutz and It has a few small documents and a Luftschutz-Dienftbuch which I was told was the equivalent of a soldbuch in the Wehrmacht. I would like a translation of what the gist of the book and two documents are saying. He was awarded the KVK 1st class, does it mention how he won it?, any mention of where he served and what he did during the war and anything else that is in the paperwork Thanks John
  16. hello, I have a few documents for a luftschutz member and would like to know what the documents are talking about. any chance they point to a particular luftschutz unit or where this man was stationed or any other information regarding his service in the luftschutz? thanks john
  17. Anyone like the Luftschutz helmets? Here's one of mine, a near mint parade helmet. Cheers Don
