  1. One of my prized collection items. 1915 Bluse attributed to General Georg Pohlmann. Prussian Red Eagle Order 4th Class Prussian Order of the Crown 3rd Class 25-Year Service Cross Officer Honor Cross Schaumburg-Lippe House Order Order of the Romanian Crown, Commander Class Order of the Siamese Crown, Commander Class EK2, EK1 Prussian Crown Order 2 with swords Pour le Merite Ernestine House Order commander with swords Schwarzburg Honor Cross 1st class with crown and swords Commander RIR 10 Commander of RIR 82 Commander of 244 Infanterie-Brigade, 237 Division Commander of 14 Division PlM 4 Ocober 1918 for conduct during the defensive battles in Champagne. (Thanks to those who have helped me thus far)
  2. Can anyone help me with the identification of this Belgian uniform, presumibly from a NCO? The odd thing is that he's wearing an unoffical Knight Order of Leopold II with swords. Thanks in advance, Gm1
  3. Dear gentleman, this photo shows the granddad of my wife. He was working at customs from 1936 on and was stationed on the German-Polish border in 1939, after France was occupied he was staioned on the spanish french border, where he got wounded. He earned his iron cross 2nd class on the 8.th of September 1939! pretty early, but my mother in law doesn't know why. To her knowledge he was always serving at customs and border controll. But what about his cap, that he is wearing in this photo, can anybody say something about that? Many people are stonished to see this cap. Thanks for your coments.
  4. Here's a really nice technical or artillerie style tunic for a leutnant of a Flieger unit. This may have been a feld-artillerie tunic but the shoulder boards appear to me originally applied as I see no evidence of replacement.
  5. Please explain these uniforms worn by the two Generals. I know the one on the left is von Moltke but I have no idea about the other general. It appears von Moltke is wearing a M1910 tunic with unusual tabs and black (?) trousers. I didn't know black trousers were worn with field gray tunics. The other general is wearing a Litewka with non-generals tabs and superb large generals shoulder boards. Can anyone explain the dress and if these men are outditted per regulations?
  6. This is an oberleutnant tunic with officers Shako with cover for the best unit on the western front during WW1. The Marinekorps Flandern... the ultimate soldiers in WW1
  7. Many Prussian generals wore regimental uniforms, either as regimental 'chef' or 'ala suite'. Kaiser Wilhelm I most often wore the uniform of the First Foot Guards, with his appropriate rank insignia. Question: Did these regimental uniforms incorporate the general's additional four buttons below the waist seam?
  8. Here's a nice, well used kleiner rock of an Oberst of feldartillerie Regiment 111
  9. Im Pete, i thought someone might be interested to see my Luftwaffe medical Lieutenants cap and leather Greatcoat.
  10. Do you fellow this this would been an officer's cap of Jäger zu Pferde Nr 3 due to the location of the cap maker?
  11. Lately I have been reading about the special trades (and patches associated with them) for the entire Wehrmacht. I am assuming some of you have some amazing tunics out there that have trade badges on them. What was the regulation of where they were supposed to be located on the sleeve. I have seen some on the lower Right, lower left, and upper right on the sleeves. I am a little confuse with their placement. I thought that all trade insignia were located on the lower left of the sleeve on tunics and waffenrocks. if you have one of these tunics I would love to see it. Thanks for taking the time to read my topic. I am looking forward to a great conversation.
  12. Guys, I don't know much about religion, This is from the week end the materials are of the period I am fairly certian but it may not be German? There were a lot of other fancy ones these came out of the skip so I am not sure, any thoughts, possible Bund?
  13. I like to rotate my uniform displays around in order to preventing them from being on the form for too long. Here is my Sonderführer NCO. prufmeister.
  14. As the topic states, I just recently let go a Black Collar Tab for the Right Side (Where the Runes would go or something else???) on an auction site. I was thinning out some incidentals that had no use to me. I never could figure out what it actually was due to it having six holes in it for the Right side of the Collar. Is it some strange SD (they had nothing on their right) or is it something as simple as a EM Luftwaffe Pioneer Collar Tab missing the metal insignia (Most likely a Pioneer or Sapper Feldwebel)? <---I am thinking this. Where there Luftwaffe Personnel on temporary assignment to the SS (some strange posting) that wore SS Uniforms but used their own Rank? I simply don't have an answer to this one folks. Any help would be appreciated. Please see the photos that I attach.. I am thinking that the two front photos of the Collar Tabs are upside down, but don't mind that.
  15. Hi everyone! I'm doing research on Kriegsmarine epaulets. I found this page on a set of Kriegsmarine Lieutenant Zur See epaulets and I would like to find the title and author of that book. Any guesses? I've tried searching the image on google, as well as random phrases of the page to see what will pop up....nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Hello fellows What tye of uniform is my great grandpa wearing on this photo? Also it looks like his cap doesn't have a Kocarde. Stefan
  17. Hello, I am considering purchasing a Polizei officer's visor cap I found online. It look old and worn to me but I would love to hear opinion from you all on if it looks authentic. Thanks for all the help. to all of you in advance.
  18. Hello, I am considering purchasing a Kriegsmarine tunic and pants that I have found. I don't know much about the tunics and was wondering if I could get some opinions on if the tunic and pants appears to be authentic WW2 German era and if they go together correctly. Thanks for your help!
  19. Hello, I would like opinions on these boots if they are indeed WW2 era German. The guy I bought them from said that they are late war boots that are not popular with collectors as other models are. He is sending me a certificate of authenticity. There are no markings on them that I see other that on the sole I saw a 44. I would like any help you can give. Thanks for your time.
  20. Guys, This bloke must have been as big as Goering. I think this could be pre war and it is well made complete with felt backing that you don't see post war often. This type of belt leather is ideal for modification to SS with the correct stamping being added.
  21. I am hoping someone can identify what the uniform means as far as rank, position, etc... All I know is that the gentleman was a member of the Ulan (Ulanen??) in Germany, the picture was taken between 1873 and 1975, and the gentleman was approximately 20 years old when the photo was taken. Any help would be greatly appreciated - as it is an ancestor. BTW - what's with the cigar?!??!?!?!? Oops - the pic was taken between 1873 and 1875.....
  22. Since Fußartillerie units cause the most frustration when researching German Imperial artillery units, both in identifying uniforms and in trying to locate units in the field, I thought I'd start a separate thread for from "Gunners in Uniform" for the uniforms of the Fußartillerie. Maybe it will be helpful for others... I'll start with an easy one that shows the evolution of the uniform of the Fußartillerie-Regiment von Linger (Ostpreußisches) Nr.1
