  1. A variant issued to a sailor who serve in 18 Vorpostenflottile and also won the Coastal Artillery Badge...
  2. As I'm sure alot of you already know a German Signature Database was set up approximately 7 months ago ( http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/forum/268-germany-signature-database/ ). Since then it has had over 420 seperate entries, and even more if those that have been posted in the 'Unknown' sections are taken into account. The accumulated 'Views' for the section as a whole runs into the many thousands and this has all been down to the generosity of members sharing what they have and to who I would like to express a big Thank You. As a constant work in progress there is always room for more so if anyone has an original signature in their collection that they know the identity of be it on a citation, in a soldbuch or a book dedication etc, it is from the relevant period and you are happy to share then your additions are very much welcome, be they a well known official or a lowly Kompanie-Chef. The Guidelines give an indication of what is (and is not) required and also shows how to sort the database in alphabetical order for those that are unaware of how to do so, and following a suggestion from a fellow member there is also a Master Index so you can see at a simple glance who is already in the database. As always, suggestions are always welcome. Thank you. KEViN/Hucks
  3. A citation type that has many variations are those for the KvK & KvM and are also a great resource for signatures. Feel free to show any that you have. I will get the ball rollong with the following examples... The first is for the KvK II Kl mit Schwertern and awarded to a member of a RAD unit and it bears the signature of Generalfeldmarschall von Kluge. The second is also for the KvK II Kl mit Schwertern and awarded to a soldier in a transport unit in Greece (1941) and it also bears the signature of a Generalfeldmarschall, in this case Wilhelm List.
  4. There are many variants of citations for Sports Awards from the more formal German Horseman's & SA Sports Badge to the less formal unit-level sports day certificates. Here is an example of the latter for a member of 52 ID and signed by Lothar Rendulic and also the soldiers booklet/citation for the Deutsches-Reichs-Sportsabzeichen in Bronze...
  5. At Chris' request i am posting this Blockade Breaker award document to Karl-Heinz Muller. The document was issued on 23 Sept.1941 and has a printed signature of the Transport Minister Julius Dorpmuller.
  6. An example of the Drivers Badge in Silver to a long serving soldier in Pi.Btl 45 and signed by Karl Hermann Zehm.
  7. A variant to a member of Fla.Btl 613 and bearing the signature of Friedrich Herrlein.
  8. Luftwaffe Formal DKiG citation to a Stuka rear gunner (StG 77) who also won the Ehrenpokal.
  9. Some time ago I bought this Iron Cross Citation from a reputable dealer in Germany. My interest in it was the connection with my country; it was awarded just before the end of the war for actions in The Netherlands. I compared general Blaskowitz's signature with some other documents on internet and it looked OK. Also, the general feeling of the document gives me confidence it is an original, but any comments by more knowledgeable forum members will be appreciated I also enclose a postcard I had already, of the surrender of the German army in The Netherlands by Blaskowitz on 5 May 1945. He is sitting on the right side in the middle. At the far left end of the table is Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands, commander of the Dutch liberation forces. Thanks and regards, Pieter
  10. Guys, A bit of local interest for me. Not that exciting for others... 4 x A5 docs for a sports meeting.
  11. A Division specific variant to a member of 20 Panzer Division complete with the Divisional emblem in the top left corner.
  12. Here is a fine example of not every assault day being a close combat day, and not every close combat day being an assault day.... Ja's on the left are close combat days, Ja's on the right, assault days...
  13. Start of with an unusual one.... Festungs Infanterie Bataillon 1409 , formed in August of 1944 and fought in Holland... dounle signed because they had no stamp...
  14. A nIce Heer flak group to a rare unit. Heer Flak doc is signed by General Fritz Lindemann. Implicated & "executed" for his part in the 20 July '44 plot. Stewy
  15. Hi folks, one of the nicest designs of ASA doc. Albert Wodrig (RK 19 July '40) I think facsimilie signature. Stewy
  16. A scarce one as it is not for the westwall, but the end of war period in the east, and to a woman...
  17. The first item of 2016 was this set to a member of 22 Infanterie-Division who took part in the invasion of The Netherlands in 1940 as a member of Inf.Rgt-16. What I like about the EK II citation, awarded 18th May 1940, is not only the decorative effort put in on the details but also that it has been signed & authorised at the Regimental level which is something seen very rarely as EK's were meant to be authorised at the Divisional level and above. The exceptions tend to be 1940-41 Grossdeutschland and some 1941 Crete related Fallschirmjäger awarded examples. This example is signed by future General der Gebirgstruppe and Swords winner Hans Kreysing. The set also comes with two other citations, his award pages from his Soldbuch and his Schwerkriegsbeschädigtenausweis.
