  2. Gentlemen, I need your assistance with acquiring info (as complete as possible) on Theodor Duesterberg awards received during the Great War and soon afterwards in Weimar-era Germany. I have a huge collection of Stahlhelm photos including Duesterberg himself at various meetings and fucnctions but recently I bought an outstanding studio portrait of Steel Helmet leader wearing an impressive array of awards including several foreign (Bulgarian, Turkish, etc.). Thus I'm interested in the complete list of his awards to fill in some blanks in my knowledge of the subject ) The above-mentioned portrait is attached here. I'd be very grateful if you could identify these awards as well except most obvious ones.
  3. If anyone have names, documents or similar on Germans who got Finnish awards from 1918 I would be most grateful to see them. I´m trying to do a list over as many as possible awardees with liberty Crosses and medals from 1918. I still miss a lot so all help is appreciated Christer
  4. I am looking for a pic of KK Küster, Carl. He was in the German Navy from 1895-1919. He survived the war and actually got recalled during WW2. He served in staff positions and commanded a volksstrum battalion in 1944-5. He died in February 1945. He is listed in the Lohmann/Hildebrandt Kriegsmarine book, volume 3. If you have this book please look for him.
  5. Hi Gents, I would like to share some photos from my collection. I couldn´t identify them. Maybe someone is able to find out who it is. Every help appreciated. This photo is signed with Graf von R. on the back. I think he is a major from the Ulanen and he is at least wearing BMVO 2 and breaststar from RAO Regards Andreas
  6. Württembergian captain with: kgl. württembergischen Militärverdienstorden Ritterkreuz 1870 issue Iron cross 2nd class 1870 Prussian Kriegsdenkmünze 1870 / 71 Württembergian Kriegsdenkmünze 1866 Russia St. Annenorden Ritterkreuz Regards Andreas
  7. Dear Rick, I am sure you remember this one... Quite a elusive reserve officer with lots of exotic stuff in the end of his bar and on his Miniaturkettchen, which alas I don't own... but surely he's from the same original wearer... This won't be so easy to be researched, either, I am afraid... Best regards, Claudio
  8. For the first glance no chance ... - BUT - Prussian 25 years service cross WITHOUT any Prussian order as it is always suspect for a general or an admiral rank. The owner made in 1901 a trip to China, so it must come down to a few persons of these ranks. No reactivation in 1914. Blue backing! No non-Prussian awards on the bar ... - THEREFORE - any chance Best Regards, Komtur.
  9. Please explain these uniforms worn by the two Generals. I know the one on the left is von Moltke but I have no idea about the other general. It appears von Moltke is wearing a M1910 tunic with unusual tabs and black (?) trousers. I didn't know black trousers were worn with field gray tunics. The other general is wearing a Litewka with non-generals tabs and superb large generals shoulder boards. Can anyone explain the dress and if these men are outditted per regulations?
  10. This is an oberleutnant tunic with officers Shako with cover for the best unit on the western front during WW1. The Marinekorps Flandern... the ultimate soldiers in WW1
  11. Hi this is my latest and I think rarest medal bar. It consists of; Hilal-i Ahmer Medalyasi (Turkish Red Crescent Medal) in Bronze Saxe Meiningen Merit Cross in Zinc on Non Combatant ribbon 1905 PRLM in silver to Civil Servant 1916 Ludwig Cross I believe only about 100 Merit crosses were awarded in 1918 on Non combatant ribbon so presumably less in zinc. Do the rolls for the Merit Cross exist and if so would it be possible to narrow it down to a few names for me to research? Any help would be appreciated, and if not possible I hope you like the bar anyway. Best regards Pete
  12. Hi guys, I'm hoping that this Luftwaffe Oberst will be identifiable via his medal bar. Can anyone confirm what medals he is wearing? There is a reasonable chance that he became a General.... Thanks, Matt.
  13. Hi Gentlemen, a few weeks ago. I could aquire this medal bar. I thought that it´s a piece of cake to identify the former owner but this isn´t so simple as I thought. 14. Hi, It's been a while since I have been here so it is nice to be back. I am trying to find out some information on an Oberleutnant zur See Delius who might have had an aerial victory or ship sinking on April 18, 1917. I am trying to find out if he was awarded an ehrenpries for an event which occured on this date. If anyone has any information it would be appreciated. Gary B

  16. Hello collector friends, I´ve could add this ribbon bar to my collection, I have Problem with the last two ribbons. Could the blue with crown be Jugoslavian ? I´ve no idea with the red / white yellow side stripes ribbon
  17. Hello gentlemen, about 25 years ago I got this fieldgray tunic. As I´m collector from imperial german medal bars. As I have no ideas about tunic, could You please help me to identify what I have here ?
  18. Hello collector-friends, in this case my research know-how was not for use. Maybe someone out there is able to identify the former owner. Regards Detlef
  19. Hi I am looking for basic information of Hptm Otto Lehmann. He was an educated observer within the German Air Force. After the War he was living as Major a.D. in Berlin. He wrote several books and articles mostly with an link to aviation. His first book was already published during the War in 1917, and as I can see he continue to write books until 1943. However it seems he not was promoted further during WW2. When his first book was published he is noted as Hauptmann. He was probably no active officer as others have solved all Lehmann with this rank. So probably an Reserve officer..? Anyone who can help ? Gunnar S
  20. Dear Forumites, Can someone please help me by providing me with the awards list at the end of WWI of Otto von Marchtaler, Württemberg's minister of war throughout WW I? Many thanks and best wishes, Sandro
  21. Dear forumites, I just purchased the bar of the above mentioned General, or I do believe it was. So was also described on Thies' auction catalogue, as Württembergian General. However there are plus than one Wallenbergs who wore the rank of General. Nowever because of the Dates of birth and death, I think it can only be Walter (*26.06.1857 - † 05.02.1945), 1914 - Oberst und Bezirkskommandeur Landwehrbezirk I Oldenburg. Char. Gen.Maj: 26.1.20. Strange that this General doesn't have any Oldenburg orders or medals on the bar. Description of the orders and medals on the bar: Preußen, Eisernes Kreuz 2. Kl. am Kämpferband, 1914 (OEK 1909), E gs/S; Preußen, Roter Adler Orden Kreuz 4. Klasse (OEK 1704), S; Preußen, Preußen, DA-Kreuz für 25 Dienstjahre der Offiziere, 5. Form (OEK 1870/1), Br vg; Preußen, Kaiser Wilhelm I. Erinnerungsmedaille 1897 (OEK 1965/1), Br vg ; Bayern, Militär-Verdienstorden 4. Kl. mit Krone u. Schwertern (OEK 412), S/Sv emailliert Medaillon G; Sachsen Königreich, Albrechts-Orden RK 1. Kl. mit Schwertern mit (OEK 2206), Sv; Königreich Württemberg, Kronen-Orden Ritterkreuz mit Schwertern am Ring (OEK 2940), G emailliert; 3. Reich (1933-45), Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer (OEK 3803/1); KuK Österreich-Ungarn, Orden der Eisernen Krone 3 Klasse mit KD, 3. Modell, Br vergoldet, BWK 608/ZK2 2066; KuK Österreich-Ungarn, Militärverdienstkreuz 3. I thank you in advance for all additional information (career, medals, etc.) you might come up with. I really do appreciate your efforts. Thank you again. Best regards, Claudio I forgot to say that this General got the so-called Gallipoli star... a beautiful cased Godet's piece!
  22. Here is a miniature bar that took about 15 years to acquire! It comes from a good friends collection and he liked it as much as I do. I always wanted it to see what Rick L. would say. I think I know! It also has a little metal tag on the back that ought to make Claudio smile.
