  1. Hello, I have found it rather hard to find a War Merit Medal either single mounted or on a medal bar. Here is an example I picked up a while ago and was happy to finally add one to my collection. How many others have mounted War Merit Medals? Regards, Jody
  2. Guys, Thought this monthly periodical was interesting in that the mundane stuff continued but emblazoned with the casualties from that area that were within the teaching trade. The LSSAH entry caught my eye!
  3. Guys, What do you all think of this? One of a kind for only 2 and a half K? http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=https://www.weitze.net/onload/shop/gastfotos/60/117960/117960_1.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.weitze.net/militaria/60/Ehrenkreuz_der_Deutschen_Mutter_Prototyp_des_Herstellers_Deschler_Sohn_Muenchen__117960.html&h=750&w=684&tbnid=uxtMxTj9dXq7WM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=82&docid=29jFz5-rHo-eMM&usg=__GvNGUmSbrcGqlDabCFV4Zu6kImA=&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiI08Pl_PjOAhWD1hQKHYYnAuEQ9QEIIDA It is coming under a bit of fire on other fora! No wonder. The name may carry weight Ned but it is no one person, a group of folk under one name touting to the needy punters. They scower Europe looking for anything they can put on their site and I know a bloke that sold them a bent RK and stated so but the scout took it anyway saying it was now an accepted original???? Bit like on WAF with a signed COA that the son put in front of the father and he signed it, then apologised for being wrong. How much more complacancy can this hobby take?
  4. Guys, The sort of thing one could buy to swat up on your weapon knowledge. I think meant to be carried in the pocket as a ready reference? Sorry about the red one but it folds out longer than A4.
  5. Guys, I found this amusing that the machine functioned to the very end. She was no doubt unemployed by May?
  6. Guys, This today, demonstartes how controlled life was then? Or is just same sheit different smell! Couple more!
  7. Hello all, i want to show you a cased Feuerwehr Erinnerungszeichen 1934 i normaly dont collect Feuerwehr items but i have to keep this little beauty!
  8. Guys, Found this quite interesting, condition is poor but it is complete. The kids really never had a chance right from the off! Note the school address and the contraversial poem.
  9. Guys, Some colour post cards! One of the olympics stadium? It is not Hoffman like the others but Wende?
  10. Guys, Not much about today, just this sadly! Seems a bit odd as it does not seem to confer any medal it appears to be just a thanks from the veterans organisation on behalf of the State? It is larger than A4 so the scan has not caught the edges, sorry!
  11. Guys, Again from last week. Sorry about the order of the pictures but it is a bit awkward as it is an A5 fold out affair.
  12. Guys, I would not normally go for these but the fact that the dust covers have survived persuaded me take them. I find the mad staring eyes on the cover for Rebellion in Germany a bit unsettling.
  13. Guys, I think this was €25 well spent, I have not had a good look through yet but last time there was a few interesting bits and bobs. I am not sure what the Arbeitsgesets are about and the business stats things look fairly uninteresting? They all originally belonged to the Reichsbahn Direktion Hannover library.
  14. Guys, Check the dates out, they loved paperwork to the end. Jock
  15. Guys, This album nust have been available on board, it appears to have visited Italy on this cruise. It is mainly holiday snaps so not that interesting except the album itself.
  16. Guys, Again in the pile from the week end, these appear to show some sort of Barracks hand over, perhaps from Friekorps to SA? The sleave badge is quite large and hopefully someone can ID it?
  17. Guys, I said the dodgey HJ badge has cost me 20 bucks so I owe it €20 of research but I am making no headway at all. The town of Euskirchen during the war was not that big and I suppose survived relatively unscathed. I have tried various searches for the above mentioned business that given its G.m.b.H. status would have been a successful small business, to give comparison today you need to clear €25k profit to even apply so it should be noteable within the town history. To be fair there is not much on line. Of note though is that there is a street named Agnes Deutschbein Strasse in the town so I wonder if the person was anything to do with this firm. I shall contact the town museum to see if they have any details about the size of the business at that time. If it was sizable and were successful then it would be fair to assume they had good equipment and tools ie good dies etc. Being an M1 retailer and looking at the margin they would have to achieve as I am assuming which may be wrong but I would have thought the expected turnover of a firm GMBH would be comparable to todays standards? I don't have that historical data but it would be a lot of badges if that was all they were making so I presume they made other things too? Here's the thing though, I have not found a single considered to be original badge manufactured by this company, my question is does anyone have one out there and a picture of its markings? I know it is only day one and I will do more searching but it just seems odd that if they were granted the M1 status that I can't find a badge so marked. There are a lot of SS skulls that tip up on search but they are universally deamed fake so I am wondering exactly what did they make? Lastly there are 3 names listed in the phone book in this town but I think it would be very rude to 'cold call' these folk on the off chance they are in some way connected to the wartime business, I would not want to cause offence. Any suggestions gratefuly recieved. Cheers
  18. Guys, This is a new one on me? Some sort of Farming official at a guess?
  19. Guys, As stated above. She survived the war and a mine strike, noteably used to bring 'Legion Condor' home.
  20. Guys, Not a lot out there today but this was different I thought, shame it has been folded or creased at some point but still quite vibrant and it has an enbossed seal from the München Race course. It is A3ish so scan for detail and picture for scale.
