I have wanted one of these for some time, and I came upon this one at a online dealer, for a well below "market" price. As is often the case, the washable white cotton top is soiled, but I have advised to leave it alone, which I shall. The cap is also from a rather rare , but authentic, maker. -
I picked up these two caps at the recent SOS. A dragoon officer's cap, for either of the two Garde regiments, or the 1st, 5th, or 13th regiments, and an nco's cap for Husaren Regt. von Zieten ( Brandenburgisches) nr.3. The dragoon cap is of very high quality, and has the remains of a gold cypher or monogram attached to the interior.

Here is an old cap, it has what appears to be a Mecklenburg-Schwerin cockade..... Named inside "Wilhelm Behrens" any ideas? cheers, Paul

I don't like buying this kind of stuff at shows...it has to come from a good source, a housecall or one step away from one...so I have not had one of these. It must be the rarest of the line pipings...I have seen small field caps but not one of these. When you see that true true lime green, no amount of faded administration, light colored mountain troop and highlightered-infantry caps stand up. What a wild color! The hat came with the capture papers noting "German officer hat", and a gun which I sadly did not get...its heavy rough wool, liner appears to be striped sleeve lining, and visor is white underneath...late war gray metal insignia, and a glazed PAPER chinstrap and sweatband...not made in German I bet...France? Italy? I thought the hat addicts on here might find this cutie worth a look! -
Hi all, I thought I would share some photos of a fairly rare cloth cap. Thgis one is a standard Luftwaffe officer visor cap, they are fairly hard to find with the trapezoid insignia, but this one is a rare one, in that it is a factory produced M43 cap, with full RB number. Hello Im a spanish militaria collector,new on this forum, Im interested in navy caps from over the world,recently I purchased a ww2 kriegsmarine sailor,s cap made by maker:cobra sonderklasse,the inside celuloid piece has the maker,s name cobra,and has a cobra painted on celuloid,and written cobra sonderklasse,gutte mutzen. When was used for this cap a single piece,eagle an cockade separated like mine and one piece for the two things and has anybody listened about cobra maker? Thanks and regards from spain
