  1. Good morning I am looking for a detailed career overview and possible picture of Oberstlieutenant T.L. v. Stamford of Drag.-Regt Nr. 5 (1833-1903) hoping you can help me out Thanks so much David
  2. Good morning I would like to know more about this officer, possibly a photo? He commanded the prussian 4th Infanterie-Brigade as a GM from 1901. Thanks a lot David
  3. Good afternoon dear forumites! my request of today involves a prussian Oberst, who retired before 1821. My source unfortunately does not name the Regiment. I do know he drew hessian cities and was published by Frommel. Any further details on his prussian service and/or his ODM appreciated! Thanks you so much in advance Regards David Ps: the later General Georg Karl Wilhelm Müldner was married to the sister of the Oberst' father. Below my current data: Stietz, Georg Karl Theodor (geboren Cassel 1774, gestorben Cassel 1837). OuE:-. 4. Good morning I am looking for more conclusive data on the career of this officer. My source https://orka.bibliothek.uni-kassel.de/viewer/image/1518619596178/486/ is rather contradictionary on the second part of his career. He either ended his career as a Rittmeister a.D. of the Garde-Train-Bataillon or of the Train-Bataillon (kurhess.) Nr 11. Could anyone give me a more definite answer? Hoping one of you could hekp me out Regards David
  5. Hi everybody, I want to create a big database showing photos of officers with their knight cross with X of House Order of Hohenzollern. Here I want only photos, not the medal ribbon bars or what else. There is special topic for that : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/20668-house-order-of-hohenzollern-info-needed/?hl=hohenzollern If you know that one officer has received the HHO3X but you don't have a photo of him showing this medal please don't post it. I want only photo of officers with their medals appears on medal, ribbon bars or on device on EK ribbon on the uniform. Thanks. Christophe
  6. Good afternoon I am looking for the ODM of the above mentioned Louis Wilhelm Ferdinand Oswald Freiherr v. Uslar-Gleichen (Cassel 31.07.1843-Wachtershausen 03.11.1896). His career during the Empire: 18.11.1870 PLt IR 81 14.11.1872 Inspectionsofficier und Lehrer bei der Kriegsschule Cassel 15.01.1874 davon entbunden 30.04.1877 Hauptmann und Kompagniechef IR 81 17.10.1883 mit Pension 17.09.1887 Wiederangestellt bei der 8. Gendarmeriebrigade Thanks so much in advance for your time and effort! Regards David
  7. Good afternoon I have not been able to find out much about the career of Karl v. Vultée or v. Vultejus, the youngest kurhessian Kadett in 1866. He presumably went into prussian militairy service and is named in my source as a possible Secondelieutenant in JB 10 by the time of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. The latter days of his career may or may not have been spend in the Invaliden-Haus in Berlin. Would there be a way in finding out more about this officer? Hoping someone could help me out. Regards David
  8. Hello everyone, I only collect Imperial German orders and medals that are on original parade/court mounts (traditional mounting styles to a particular German State or Kingdom). One area that I don't have too much expertise in is those original mountings from the early 1800's. I was hoping someone could show me some original mountings for those Prussian medals from that time period, specifically the Prussian Campaign Medal for 1813-1814 (Kriegs-Denkmünze für 1813-1814). Thank you, Jason
  9. Good morning I am looking for the ODM and possible complete data on the career of: Otto Viktor Weber 1855 SLt im Jäger Bataillon 1859 to the Schützen Bataillon 1866 prussian PLt 1870 Hauptmann 1879 Major 1879, 1886 Militär Intendantur Rath VII, XI AK 1894 Geheimer Kriegsrath 1898 pensioniert Any help greatly appreciated! Regards David
  10. Hi I have been trying to find a picture by Knötel of a prussian Kriegskommissar around the later napoleonic wars. Are there any? Hope someone can help me out
  11. MAJOR SCHMULA: Hello. The last entry recorded for Major Schmula in the 1914 Prussian ranklist shows him serving on the staff of Infantry Regiment Von Der Marwitz (8. Pomm.) Nr. 61. Prior to that, he was serving on the staff of the 3rd Thuringian Infantry Regiment Nr. 71 with a rank of Hauptmann. Does anybody know his first name and the dates of his birth, retirement, and death? I would like to include this information on a label I've attached to his medal bar. Thank you in advance. Regards.
  12. Good morning! I would like to verify the data I found in the Woringer Kartei https://orka.bibliothek.uni-kassel.de/viewer/image/1528278445032/359/ on Reinhard Weber. According to this data, he stood as a Kadett in kurhessian service in 1866. He may or may not be the same person as Reinhard Weber, Oberst mit Patent vom 18.04.1901 with the Uniform of IR 78, commanded to oversee the Command of the Truppen-Übungsplatz Wesel. ODM given as PROA4, PKO3, EK2 and PDAK. Would there be something like a Stammliste which lists his earlier career and date of birth and death to confirm he was the kurhessian Kadett in 1866? Hoping someone here could help me out again 🙂 Regards David
  13. Good evening, the officer below stood in prussian service after his return from Russian captivity. I would like to know if there are any details to be found in sources on the 14 IR about either his service or to confirm the other information of his career. Thanks so much in advance Weishuhn, Friedrich Franz Maximilian (geboren Allendorf 22.04.1786, gestorben). Infanterie-Regiment (3. Pommerschen). OuE:-. Feldzugen und Mobilmachungen:-. V.:, M.:-, H.: NN Brandau aus Witzenhausen. Quelle: Woringer Kartei Bd. 28 Bl. 447.
  14. Dear Forumites I am looking for the careerdata and any further information on Dr. Med. Walther Zimmer He was a Stabsarzt in prussian 85. (holsteinisches) Regiment during the franco-prussian war. What I have on him, I found here https://orka.bibliothek.uni-kassel.de/viewer/image/1528278845478/358/ Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. David
  15. I should check my old drawers more often... What are your thoughts on this item? The writing seems a bit squashed, or is it a poor copy?
  16. Good day! I am investigating a prussian Artillerie Lieutenant by the name of NN v. Grünthal. He is mentioned in a book describing the 1815 campaign of the North German Bundescorps. Up to now I have only been able to find 1 noble family by that name. But it died out first half of the 18th century. Could anyone correctly identify this officer for me? Thanks a lot Regards David
  17. Hello! This time I am looking for information regarding a special class of the Prussian Red Eagle Order. It is occasionally seen as a neck decoration on some early post-Napoleonic portraits. I have been lucky to find the preserved items that used to belong to Jean-Jacques-Régis de Cambacérès (today in the collections of the Musée de la Légion d’honneur - sorry, no better resolution). Still, practically no information about this particular class is available. It seems it also served as a model for the class of the Grand Cross in 1861. If somebody could supply information of when exactly this class was added to the order, what its official name is and who it was intended for, I would owe a lot. A better quality photo would be great, too. Thanks.
  18. Hi guys, I thought it would be nice to start a thread where we can all show our Red Eagle Orders with Swords. Any type, and class, any period or condition -- even photos of the award in-wear. I'll start it off with this one, recently shown in another thread. Unmarked example from the 1870 period.
  19. Hi I know this might be a long shot....but I am searching for an overview of the ODM of Friedrich III Wilhelm Nikolaus von Preussen (Emperor Frederick). I know he probably got everything, but I would just like to know if there is an overview somewhere preferably but not necessarily with dates. Its for my book on the House Order of the Golden Lion I am preparing. Interested in the progress of my projects? Please check my website davidmueldner.wordpress.com Have a great sunday regards David
