  1. A photo from my RAD collection, showing a Reichsarbeitsdienst Oberstfeldmeister at ease. On the table a very nice tea or coffee cup (which I would not mind to have in my collection), but the puzzle for me is in the cross that dangles next to his EK1. What could this be and why should he wear it in this manner?
  2. Finally got it! The Dienstaltersliste 1938 of the RAD/Reichsarbeitsdienst. Apparently totally neglected and never published. It comes in 4 volumes, first one Generalarbeitsführer (Generalmajor equivalent) down to Arbeitsführer (equivalent Major):
  3. Guys, Another local rescued out of the skip. She looks uncannily like the Willrich post card she herself kept? last one
  4. Guys, As stated above. Shame the old boy has used a post war pen to caption the pictures, probably added post war too except the front section. On the other hand we now have the context of the pictures? It is what it is. Quite interesting in that they appear to have been engaged in 'Time Team' activity opening up pre history burial mounds? He was also a horse car racer.
  5. Guys, Again from the week end. I like the BW with the TK and the dog is well dressed!
  6. Guys, Got this today with a pile of pics, I like the album cover and that she has some sort of sports award that may be a regional award? Jock
  7. Guys, These young lasses were engaged for 6 months it would appear in support of the roads authority Luebeck in summer of 42. There is one of those localy produced unit Heft things which is quite interesting.
  8. Does anyone know which medals Dr. Ley wore on his medal/ribbon bar? It appears to be: 1. German Social Services 3rd Class with Swords (per 1942 regs); 2. Hindenburg Cross 3. NSDAP 25 year 4. NSDAP 15 year 5. NSDAP 10 year 6. Anschluss 1938 medal 7. ??? 8. Westwall What makes the grouping interesting (to me) is the comparatively rare triple NSDAP awards. Any help?
  9. Guys, The bottom picture shows the girl in the middle wearing some sort of trade badge with the blitz's and a RAD sleave patch, whats that all about? They are also wearing Luftwaffe caps? Jock
  10. Guys, A test run for my new scanner. These are from the box of now dry pictures, they have curled up quite badly so I was thinking of puting them in a heavy book to try and sort them out? Jock
  11. I also have never seen a Trench heater for the RAD. This looks interesting as well. what are your thoughts? Thanks john LINK BELOW: http://www.bunkermilitaria.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BM&Product_Code=18519&Category_Code=1
  12. Generalarbeitsführer Karl Schmückle (15-5-1895 / 3-4-1970)
  13. Guys, These are from today and I am struggling with the badges, Inf sturm probably a woulnd badge in silver, what are the 2 below them? Any ideas? also his left arm looks a bit limp is it a prosthetic perhaps? Cheers Jock:)
