I have actually seen and scanned one "dog license" award document.Hard to say who an "average" recipient was, since they ranged from Captains to Generaloberst. Probably about average were Obersts-- all home service guys whose full careers and other awards I haven't gotten into, but All Will Be Revealed with Daniel's W?rttemberg Rolls. According to Nimmergut, only 121 were awarded and I am sure that Daniel will sort this out once and for all. Again according to Nimmergut, officially these pieces were made by the K?niglich W?rttembergische M?nzant and are consistent with the example in posts #15 and #16. He also refers to examples by both Paul Meybauer and Godet, neither of which he gives any official status. Lastly, over the years, I have seen many good to awful copies of this award. These medals are really quite beautiful. The red cross is an attached separate piece.
