Why are Imperial Navy headgear so hard to find?

Recommended Posts

Dear Das Limpet,

First of I would like to say that you brought up a very good question, and it was very enjoyable to have read all the results from the question that you asked. They make sense to me.

I was on the Collector`s Guild website and they had this hat, but now it is sold, but here is the picture of it anyway. Nice close up shots. It looks good but I do not know for sure. Anyway have a look...

I also found these Naval hats on Der Rittmeister website that are for sale....

Thanks

Awesome pics as usual Mr. Research!

Justinkase, you brought up a rather interesting topic with the fore after hat. These can be had as well if need be.

So, daggers and swords can be had if your willing to spend a few thousand or more for a good one.

Fore and after hats can be found as well.

Sailor caps not too much of a problem.

Sailor dress coats a pretty fair amount out there.

Cap Insignia also can be found if you look close out there.

But officer caps and coats??? Good grief! :Cat-Scratch:

And Deckoffizier visor caps and frock coats are even harder to find. The collector freind that Mr dwmosher posted is a very lucky collector. I have never seen anyone with both a Deckoffizier and officer visor cap. :wacky:

Chip previously had made mention of the two true feldgrau Donald Duck caps shown in my prior thread. This is a close-up of one of these incredibly rare caps.

Although this cap is no longer mine, you may like to see this removable white-top reserve line officer's schirmmutze.

Dave,

Dear Lord, that is a fantastic enlisted cap. I've not been able to find one in 40 plus years of collecting. Maybe I will end up having to dye my white top cap?
