Here we got a very interesting reference, of a Lieut Colonel from Brazil, Marcelo Pecahna Da Graca, who had been awarded the medal " Star for Distinguished Service" = " Estrella por Servicios Distinguidos" on 27 February 2018.

Here is the El Salvador Cruz for Military Campaign 1980-1992 (actually the Civil War in El Salvador).

I saw a recent photo of this award, it seems there is different manufacturer, and quality vary.

On 9 December 2017, a Ceremony where these medals were awarded ( 6 Medals awarded that day) . The Day of the Air Force.

Here is El Salvador Medal in Excellencia Academica ( it's a military award ). Likely for military teacher.

Actually Guatemala has also a military medal for Excellencia Academica.

Again, the same tool dies, have been use to make this one, just the motto at 6 O'Clock is changing (and the ribbon).

It's Dr. Manuel Enrique Araujo Medal.

Manuel Enrique Araujo was President of El Salvador from 1911 to 1913, when he was assasinated. He was Vice President before 1911, and was also ounce Mayor of San Salvador. He was also a Doctor, and he was giving care to the poor for free. It is during his Presidency that the actual flag of El Salvador was adopted.

Since 1955 the Military Academy of El Salvador is named after him.

An award for Military Doctor...? Or an award for Military Teacher ? Or for those who follow the course of the Military Academy and are major in their promotion ? If any member can tell us more about. I would be glad.

This medal is the Medal awarded to those of the Salvador Armed forces who were sent to Irak. It was instituted in 2009.

From August 2003 to January 2009, 380 Troops of El Salvador, mostly elite Para Troop were sent to Irak. They operated alongside Spanish Legion in Najaf area. The salvadorian contingent suffered 5 dead and 20 wounded in Irak.

Captain Ricardo Arnoldo Alfaro Monge from Salvadorian Air Force was among the recipient of this medal. He was in Irak from May 2008 to February 2009.

Hello Gentlemen,

 

In 2007, IVB showed us an award document of the Order of Jose Delgado awarded in that same year 2007.

 

I took here the opportunity to show a much earlier exemple of Order Jose Delgado award document : Gran Cruz de Plata, to Gregorio López Bravo, who in 1971 was Minister of Foreign Relation of Spain.

 

Much later, Gregorio López. Bravo was killed in an airline crash in Bilbao in 1985.

 

I took the occasion to thanks Ilja and others contributors for the amazing photo they share along the years.

Keeping the original topic alive,  here is something in friend's collection - perhaps lower class of the older military merit award? Cannot find reference to this particular one anywhere - has anyone seen another like this? It is definitely of the older quality and with white enamel under the National motif/wreath.
