Henry 24th
Was found alongside an American M-1928 e-tool carrier that it fits into. Anyone have any clue where it may have come from? There is a good chance it may be Imperial Russian. I have one similar to yours with russian writing on it, and the drilled out hole. Perhaps some of the Russian collectors on this forum can say for sure, but I have been told that the imperial E-tools were marked with the imperial eagle. When there were reissued to soviet troops, the eagle was drilled out.Hope this helps. Regards...henry
landsknechte
On another forum where I have this posted, someone has an identical example, but stamped in such a way as to suggest it was Finnish. Of course, the Finns used plenty of captured equipment, so that may not even make a difference. I hadn't noticed it initially, but the edges were sharpened (obviously not recently).
