Bill Garvy Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I thought to post four examples of Guard's Badges from my collection. . .from the 1950's:1960's:1970's: & 1980's:As always, comments welcome!
Paul L Murphy Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 It would be good to post photos of the reverse as well since the makers' marks on the back are always a help in dating the badge.
Bill Garvy Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 Per your request, I hope these scans are helpful in terms of identifying the dates aformentioned. Obviously, any additional information you can provide is most appreciated!1950:1960:1970:1980:

Ed_Haynes Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Thanks for "bumping" this thread. I'd (almost) forgotten what a good reference it is!
RichieC Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Hello Bill,I would like to add to your thread...Here is an example that one does not come across very often. It is of superior quality IMO and was made in the workshop of the famous & long time Estonian maker Roman Tavast. After the war, his workshop became Soviet property and was renamed Metallm?rk.
Ferdinand Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Great topic. I have four from WW2 and all seem to be slightly different:
