    What an interesting group :jumping::jumping:

    On the large medal bar, second from the end (also in pic #2) is the 'Benemerenti' Medal awarded by the Pope.

    The 'Benemerenti' is awarded to lay men (later to women) who distinguished themselves by special services to either the Pontiff, or to the Catholic church. They are awarded only once a year and are rarely seen.

    This one was bestowed by Pope Piux X (1903 to 1914).

    For each pontiff there is a separate designed medal and ribbon.

    It is perfectly in line with the St Johns awards.

    The other awards have a religious bent to them but I am unable to pin them down.

    I'll still keep looking because the last medal on the large bar looks familiar.

    The other one in picture #2 (red ribbon with blue edge stripes) is the Lateran Cross, also awarded by the Vatican.

    I had a feeling it was that but couldn't find a picture for confirmation.
