Medal for merit in security and defence

    Recommended Posts

    Hallo Christian

good observation, it is the same ribbon as for the old medal for military virtue. :jumping:

    regards

    Milan

    Dear Milan,

so, Yugoslavia during the (socialist) Milosevic-era didn't only use old dies, but also the old ribbons ;) .

    In the pinned-section I made a posting about YU-Awards during the 4 Yugoslav-Wars of the 1990s: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...st&p=159521

In my opinion the "phaleristic-language" of these orders and medals is still communist in style and appearance.

    Best regards

    Christian

BTW: Do you have any access to the statutes and regulations of Yugoslav Awards from 1943 to 2000  ?

    Good evening gentlemen

yes you are absolutely right they used the dies and the ribbons, the only thing that lacked was the experince in craftmanship and manufactury of orders. See my next example how crude the work has be done. Medals from this time period are pretty OK (as seen).

For the 43-2000 period should be no problem in having access to those papers, I will tell a friend of mine who arrived at Beograd just today to look what he can find.

    Regards

    Milan

    Dear Milan,

the cases & rolls are very fine done and really beautiful, but the orders look like very bad fakes of the old communist ones  .

Why did they produce that bad quality - maybe they lost IKOM-Zagreb  ?

    Best regards

    Christian

BTW: Does any of the numerous ex-YU-states still use the old IKOM-dies  ?

    Good evening Christian

I have absolutely the same opinion as you regarding the bad quality, it is a pitty to look at those orders, and I think that you have the right reason for this. Probably the dies have been saved from Zagreb but the know how of manufactury remained with the persons there. During the former periods all enamel work was done by IKOM in Belgrade was only the minting part of coins and medals.

    :speechless::speechless:
