    I'm currently reading an account of a German Soldier belonging to the 4th Division of the Guards. On August 21, 1917 at Saint Auguste near Lens he took part in a trench raid and according to his notes they encountered Canadians. In his account he mentions that the Canadian soldiers had the letters 'BS" or perhaps "BC" on their shoulder boards.

    Can anyone identify the unit?
