Monsun Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 Hi Gordon,you are right, thats really the rarest u-boat commander cap, worn here from Kapit?nleutnant Wilhelm Dommes at his time as commander of U 431 (29.U-Flottille, La Spezia & Toulon). It looks as if he needed a uniform in short order. The straps are the ones used on the Summer white uniform, right?Interesting how they are attached by the button after being passed through a slide for the slip on boards.
