Yes, even Blue Max winners had baby fat, once upon a time. :catjava:

Hans Georg Horn, circa 1940. The original photo was given to the late N. O'Connor by Horn's widow. Sorry about the lack of quality in the photo...but that ought to help keep it from being "borrowed."

Christophe-- post number 2 above over in the helmets section-- that is a STRANGE wartime version of the FIBER helmet I've never seen before that he is wearing!

Pleeeeeeeeeease, looking for a wartime photo of THIS guy...

    KARL Friederici

    Leutnant 18.8.95 K3kOberleutnant 22.4.05 Z6z

    Hauptmann 27.1.11 P5p

    Major some time in 1916

Stayed in Inf Rgt 98 long enough to become Regimental Adjutant, then moved on over to Inf Rgt 68.

He received his HHOX gazetted in the MWB on 13 September 1917, and was awarded Prussia's highest award

Alas, he did not live to savor his accomplishment, killed in action 4 November 1918 as Commander of Reserve J?ger Battalion 20-- literally in the final week of the war!

    Biography from Rick R.

    Brian,

I was perusing this thread and noticed your post. Here is a picture of him. I do not have the whole photo. Found it somewhere and do not recall. Steve

    Epson, Epson, Epson!!!

BIG CLEAR closeup of unknown Oberst's shoulder boards.

BIG clear close up of pinback awards on HORRIBLE scrawled von Illegible slumped in front of the painting. He is OBVIOUSLY not wearing ALL his stuff, (RAO2XmE?....) so medal bar alone isn't enough to compensate for the dreadful scribbling.
