Hi All

Have just got this -does anyone know what it is and how much they normally go for?

don't usually get Russian stuff but for some reason quite liked this one -what does the writing mean on the rear?

It's supposed to be a Ukrainian award from their briefly independent period before the Communists took over. These have now been faked, "issued in exile," and apparently been "re-issued" for so long now-- over 30 years-- that there may be some semblance of real age on them.

I forget exactly which one this is supposed to be (Sich Riflemen comes out of dim memory). But they are like the current lunatic "Supreme Soviet" awards of the nonexistent Soviet Union-- a curiosity, but nothing more.

I knew elderly Ukrainian veterans of the Civil War (though none ever admitted to having fought for Nestor Makhno) in the 1970s when these first showed up, and never met a real person who was, or felt he was, "entitled" to one.
