Ed Maroli
I recently found this sword. Unfortunately it was keep in a leaky attic which rusted both the blade and the iron fittings. It is in the typical late war Shingunto mounts. The blade is old, straight, and with 2 tang holes making it most likely early Edo from about the mid 17th century. The saya is wood, laquered brown with kanji beneth the paint.~Ed Maroli

Ulsterman
sweet! To own one of these 17th century conversions has always been an ambition of mine. What a great piece of history.
Ed Maroli
Sadly this ancestral blade was left to rust. The top 8 inches taking it the hardest.
