Preussisches Goldenes Militaer Verdienst Kreuz

the following is a list of recipients of the Prussian Gold Military Merit Cross for valor during the World War I. The recipients were members of Prussian Jaeger units . Of note regarding this much overlooked decoration is the total number of only 1773 bestowals during WW I which amount to one cross of every 7,200 who served.

Also of note is the date first awarded which was in 1917 with the majority awarded in 1918.

    • As a theology student my professor, a much published former Naval chaplain, set us an essay, saying that if we could answer that successfully we would be guaranteed  a good degree "Which of the gospel writers was the biggest liar, discuss."   I got a good mark, but  don't want to be burned for heresy.   P
