Ed Maroli
Here is an interesting item I've had for some time. I'm guessing it was given during the war (no victory medal) shortly after the kamikaze hit while she was being repaired. It is embossed with the USS Lamson's seal and the fellow crew members names and addresses on the reverse indicate the sudden parting of old friends.Cheers, Edhttp://www.history.navy.mil/photos/sh-usn/usnsh-l/dd367.htm

David S
That is the second one of those I have seen within the last five years, the other was from the destroyer Hamilton, which was found in a thrift shop mixed within sports trading cards
JBFloyd
You'll find these or smaller wallet cards with the same data. They were carried by the individual while on liberty. The object was to verify service and prevent guys from decking themselves out like Christmas trees. I've seen similar cards for Army troops, but all of those were from occupation zones.
