Guest Rick Research Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 That's probably some time from March to June 1943, but this is a particularly tricky out of sequence serial number range, so could be earlier or even much later, dependeing on what unit actually issued it.Any number this low is probably well worth getting researched.
JensF. Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 Yes Rick, I thought the same. Maybe I will research my Newski and this one. Do you think an Order of the Patriotic War 1. class is also worth to research?
Gerd Becker Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Jens, nice screwback with Character. Orders of the Patriotic War 1st class are probably the next best to research after the Nevsky?s. Its also a Bravery-Order and research usually turns out interesting.best,Gerd
kimj Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Very nice Red Banner! It's not that common to see one with as good enamel as this one. For some reason this type of RB often have enamel chipping. I have one that looks as if it got a good beating and lost all enamel. He recipient then got it re-enameled. Later it got another beating and lost some of the replaced enamel. Now it looks rather worn./Kim
JensF. Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 I think this would be a nice one to research, or?
Paul R Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Yes, please research it! I dont think that you will be sorry! I was not!
Ed_Haynes Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I can't imagine you'd ever go wrong in researching a screwback RB.
Guest Rick Research Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 This was posted 2 1/2 years ago!Probably too late NOW to get done now that Podolsk is ... going away God knows where.

RedMaestro Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 True, but this isn't an abnormal amount of time to wait for research anyway. From what I hear, the rumors of the archives' demise may be exaggerated.Neither of the two researchers I am currently using knew anything about the archives closing when I asked them. In fact, Nota Bene told me to expect results in less than a month, though I am sure he says the same to everybody.
