Deruelle Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Bad new for all, The well known german autor is dead in september. We pray for him.Christophe
Guest Rick Research Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Oh NO!!!!He was the most active compiler of WW1 award rolls that Michael Autengruber printed, absolutely invaluable research tools for us in German Imperial collecting. I never got in contact with him, alas, and now it is too late! His work will remain though as a foundation for anybody else to continue from, and remain at the heart of our reference libraries for longer than any of us will live. His work may be, sadly, finished, but its usefulness and value will always be appreciated by all of us who benefited from his labors. This generation and those to come will have reason to thank, and remember, Erhard Roth-- and that is a legacy to be proud of. We may have been strangers, but as "hard core researchers" we were all global soulmates in the pursuit for obscure and decisive research documentation.Erhard Roth may be gone, but he will NOT be forgotten.
Stogieman Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 A darn shame. My thoughts are with his family. I wonder if anyone else in Germany will step up to the plate and run with the ball? A sad day for Imperialites everywhere.
Bob Hunter Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Let's hope that someone finds it economically feasable.
Blitz Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I've been using one of his compiled award scrolls for six months now, a truly great man. As Rick said, he WILL NOT be forgotten.
Chris Boonzaier Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Let's hope that someone finds it economically feasable. I think in cases like this it can only be done if the author is passionate about his subject and is willing to loose time and money.
